I think you are correct on the USD 4th, Davis 5th. Its not just that USD big win was today.
If the committee had USD fourth after the games of Oct.26, which they did, what has happened since that would lead them to move Davis ahead of them? That was their ranking after their loss on the 26th.
Davis is 3-1 since then with their best win being Montana.
USD is 3-0 with a best win against NDSU.

I agree. I won't be mad at the committee for putting USD over us. They beat the #1 team and have always been over us since their initial rankings

I think we should have been ahead of them before yesterday. We had two top 10 wins, and their best win was #14 (or so) Illinois St. After yesterday, they definitely move ahead.

Before yesterday their best win was over an unranked team. They didn’t play Illinois St. so it was either an 8-2 Drake or 5-7 North Dakota.

I meant southern Illinois who was #17 at the time. I think their OT loss to SDSU carried a lot of weight.

Another factor is metrix like Massey, and two ESPN metrics that as far as I know are not published, South Dakota was ahead of Davis in Massey. Yesterday Davis likely moved lower as they did not beat the Massey “line”. Probably same with other computer metrics.
The committee has no standard for rating the teams, members use whatever method they want among the tools that are approved,

One game for sure. If we get the 4 we’d have 2 home games if we win the first one. If we’re the 5 we only get 1 unless the 4 seed loses their first game.

If Davis is 5th like we all anticipate, I believes that would match/pair the Aggies up with potentially the #11 team in the bracket...and a 17-24 at large team of course. Who's going to end up #11? Montana? Rhode Island? Illinois State?

I've seen a projected bracket that has Montana at #11 and, If they win their first round game, they would be coming to #5 Davis. I really hope we get to play someone else.

Not really. I expect all the playoff teams will be tough. I do, however, think that Montana would be more ready for us if we do play them again but I also think we are the better team.

I just like to see us play someone we've never played before. I saw another projection that had us playing the winner of Villanova - Drake and I think that would be a more interesting game. We don't often get a chance to play teams from the east or midwest.

I really really don't want to play Montana. Anything but that. One, the amount of fans they can whip up on short notice, secondly that they will know what did not work in their last game, and third because you know they love making Big Sky teams play each other. Why not have NAU in our bracket or SUU if they get in if you want Western teams?
