I don’t think they are #2, unless they run the table (and then we can have the discussion)

I don't think we are solidly number 2 but we could make the case at least right now. Davis has an equal to or better than every other team in the Top 10 (outside of NDSU) and have a stronger SoS than most of them, but not all, as well.

I don't give a crap what we are ranked. Beat Montana.

I'm going to go ahead and say it: we are are not a Top-10 team yet. But I'll take the cool ranking.

This is our first year being formidable opponent week-in and week-out since 2002.
and we are just getting started in terms of getting this program back to yearly conference dominance.

We got a LONG way to go this season - Montana and Eastern on the ROAD, and NAU and Sac at home. 4 teams that can and will beat us if the team starts marveling at the rankings. I'm sure Hawk has already started in on them.

No love for the Defensive players?

Roland Ocansey with the fumble recovery and score (I missed that one on break).

RFrosh Cam Trimble with 8 tackles to lead the team! Airey, Soph, 7 tackles. RFrosh Perryman and King, 10 tackles each. Bland 3 tackles. Hicks 2 tackles... special teams?

I thought Brandon Jamison had a sack on a delayed blitz, not in the box score.

The Stats poll is an interesting one. ISU at #3 and two Ivies at 5 & 6. I watched ISU @ Liberty yesterday and they lost 48-41 but they were very impressive regardless. After the disappointment of their loss to us they traveled across the country to play an FBS team and put up 631 yards. The Gueller to Gueller combo as good as Maier to Doss. Not sure I'd want to play them again in the playoffs.

I'm nearly positive that Jamison had a sack also...

Davis Enterprise: Aggies wallop Cal Poly, score 52 unanswered

“They moved pretty good on us on that first drive,” Moe allowed. “But it was just a matter of getting used to what they were doing and all keeping our assignments.”

    Defensive coordinator Robert Tucker agreed…

“I give all the credit to our defense for holding that team scoreless over the last three quarters. It was just a matter of getting used to the speed of the game, and once we did, we were able to shut them down. I’m very pleased with that effort.”

and a good chunk of it was waiting to see if there was an Aggie fumble.

However, I will say those cheerleaders are a highlight.

Notice how many times the Poly announcers, who I felt were very fair and knowledgeable, bemoan the Poly offensive decision making. They also were dumbfounded by the number of fair catches Poly made on our kickoffs to them when there wasn't an Aggie within 20 yards of the returner. The boo birds can be heard in the background also. Tough times for Poly...maybe time for a big change...

Dropped like $30 on verizon overages watching from a campground in VA. Worth it though. Didn’t see first quarter but what struck me:

    1. Cal poly played very conservatively but that is playing their strength (fullback Prothro). Aggie defensive scheme was spot on with personnel and alignment.
    2. For the first time in a while the talent Chasm was quite large. UCD obviously had way more talent than Poly. It was like watching 2 levels of football. Run or pass was pick your poison for Poly. Yes the stats weren't That different but that was because of short fields etc. Never have been under less stress watching a game -and knowing there was virtually no way Ags would not win.

    3. “Almost” felt sorry for Poly. Was weird seeing the 2 bands in the field together. When I was in band-uh they would not let us on field so we didn’t travel to their house - yet we didn’t reciprocate and they were in field at Toomey.

Yes, the Ags May lose in the coming weeks but if they pant anywhere near their potential they easily could run the table. Of course with 19 year olds and college football anything could happen. They are SO FUN to watch.

It really looked like uninspired football from Poly.

Montana will bring fire and pain for 4 quarters. It's basically a playoff game for them next Saturday.

Strap it up, get ready, and practice your silent count.

So a shoulda, coulda, woulda argument. Sucks when things don't go your way, but they aren't 6-1.

Yes, they lost a tight one to Western Illinois on the road, and then to Portland State at home. Tight games both, they're QB is a fantastic athlete, can really move and create. I think our passing game is a good attack against their defense, the X factor is the crowd and dealing with the noise when we're on O...I expect a feverish uptempo from the Ploughboys.

From what I was reading on their fan forum, they believe Maier is going to shred their secondary. I posted in the Montana thread that they have 2 LBs that are lights out so we are going to have to avoid that damage that they can do.

Montana will aim to shut down the running game and get after Maier, rudely. OL has a big task this Saturday.

Defensively, we have to contain Sneed as best we can.

I'll be there, we'll see what Pete can get on the screen.

Pluto TV is no guarantee for a good stream. Even the Grad could come up short. Unless they can channel Missoula tv.

Suani our true freshman heavyweight D lineman started and played a lot of snaps, Is that a first for him?
Got to like all the young defensive players making their presence felt.
