Awesome! We'll be playing Irvine and a full house will certainly help motivate the team. The previous ESPN games in the Pavilion have been amazing and the crowd was electric. We took Irvine into OT in the first game before losing but I think we'll win this one.
They need to get on the marketing right now...notify the sororities and fraternities and swamp the dorms with information. Pump this one up in the community too. Every one of the previous ESPN games in the Pavilion has been an awesome collegiate atmosphere.
Just picked up my two tickets to the game. Looks like some reserved seats still available on the visitors side. Hopefully the weather doesn't keep people away.
I'm behind you in 209. Looks like most of the reserved seats left are in 207-209. Hopefully a lot of students show up. Clubs, other teams, greek, dorms...get 'em all.
Started with the usual stuff - "peaking at the right time," . . . "Irvine is a good team," . . . the usual very high praise for UC Davis as an institution . . . loves getting the opportunity to display all of that positivity to a nationwide audience (via the ESPN game) . . . etc.
Napear brought up the Officer Corona shooting and asked Jim to reflect on that tragedy from a University perspective. Heartfelt comments from Coach Les. "What Davis showed me . . . adversity brought the community together."
Grant, nor Doug Christie, brought up TJ's health. And Jim didn't offer it up on his own.
‘UC Davis Athletics is proud to have UC Davis alum and Sacramento Kings Emcee, Katerina Kountouris host our ESPNU game this Thursday! Welcome back Kat’
She was great for football. Looking forward to the game!
As for TJ, I suspect that Jim Les didn't want to tip his hand one way or the other to avoid helping Irvine prepare. The other possibility is that TJ is still day to day and no one knows for sure. Wish I could get to the game. I've never attended a televised game at Davis live. At least, I'll get to watch it.
