Great in depth article in the NYT today on the financial woes of the Pac12 Conference/Network compared to the other Power 5 conferences. I wont try and summarize it, but the thinking is generally that geography is the big reason. It effects TV starting times and thus national viewing stats are not competitive. Also, there is so much more to do in the West besides watching a football game, whereas in the mid-west and south, not so much; thus, attendance not as high. Can’t really fix those problems.
