Anyone know why 2026 is completely open? 2024 and 2025 have been set for a very long time now and we know they are playing at UCLA in 2027. Are FBS / P2 schools planning on restricting FCS games? Did some team back out of an agreement prior to signing?
I know FCS schedules are usually only completed 1-3 seasons prior but it is unusual for the Ags to have zero OOC games in 2026 esp since they are playing a sister school, UC Los Angeles in 2027. You'd think the other west coast schools would want to have a local game with all the travel they have. What's going on?
I’m guessing the collapse of the pac 12 is affecting things. Those schools are having to schedule an extra non conference game (Pac12 played one more conference game than other P5), and they must be leading to a lot of shuffling of existing dates. For example, San Jose is hosting Stanford next year - they had to drop someone to fit that in.
