The Aggie women open their season with an exhibition game against CS East Bay tonight. There is no live stream but the Aggie website indicates there will be Live Stats. Go Ags!
Thanks for posting those Russ. I do like the confidence from Langi. Looking forward to seeing who fills in at point guard. Obviously Hall will be a focal point, but we'll need some additional help on the perimeter. Maybe Burns and Langi both get a lot of PT.
The Aggies shook off the cobwebs in the 2nd quarter and sprinted out to 40-26 lead at the half.
The Aggie defense came alive also after allowing CSEB to shoot 77% in the first quarter, they held them to 12% shooting in the 2nd quarter.
It appears that the PG position is a work in progress for the Aggies. Trpcic will be tough to replace. She was a wonderful floor general, ball handler and an assist machine.
(In case anyone is SUPER worried, Davis's lineup for the last 3-4 minutes has been the three freshmen plus two sophomores, while CSUEB is running 4 out of five of their starters.)
Aggies had 10 players with double figure minutes, including two of the three freshmen.
Leading scorer for the Aggies was Shine on 6-7 from teh field and 4-4 from the line.
Leading rebounder was TEAM with 9 (stats guys are a little slow in the first game, apparently), followed by a bunch of people with 3-5.
Three blocks for Stobbart. :strong:
This was a very strange game. CSEB came out red hot and shot 77% in the first quarter then cooled off to a icy 12% in the second quarter. Then the Ags stretched the lead to 57-36 after 3 but then went 0-14 until there were only 34 seconds left in the game. The Aggies only scored 5 points in the final quarter all on FT's in the final 34 seconds. Very odd game...
