The Aggies hit the road for their final two games of the season starting with UC Riverside. The Highlanders are a formidable team capable of beating anyone in the league and they'll be playing hard to try and improve their seeding in the BW tournament. The Aggies want to win out and secure the #1 seed and enter the tournament playing their best basketball of the year. Two road wins by the Ags would put the icing on the cake of an already great season by this talented team.
A win by the Ags tonight would also give Coach Jen Gross her 100th career victory at the helm of the Aggies.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Aggies just clinch the co-championship?
Nobody's mentioned it and of course they're losing the tiebreaker to Long Beach St for the #1 seed, but the worst they can do is tie the 49ers at 13 wins right now.
It sounds like this one was a real dog fight. Riverside is tough and going on the road and playing in a practically empty gym (attendance: 179) made this game particularly difficult for the Aggies.
Pele Gianotti got a steal with 2.9 seconds left and the Ags called timeout. Kourtney Eaton lobbed the inbounds pass to Morgan Bertsch who scored with 1.1 seconds left and the Ags secured their 22nd win of the season.
Now the Ags head to CSUN on Saturday with a chance to win the BW Conference Championship and head into the BW tournament as the #1 seed and double bye.
