Still a chance they play football in spring, but doesn’t sound likely. I didn’t realize football was a money loser for the Ivies. That might have swayed the decision.

A good question: does BigSky football make any money?

we do because we play one or two FBS games. Not sure what the net would be without them

    I bet Montana does.

Given that the infection rate of those under 70 is lower than the regular flu and the average age of someone who dies from CCP-19 is 82, who would we be protecting?

Are the anti-football crowd / academics / feminists seizing an opportunity to further cripple "toxic masculinity" and football, simultaneously?

Big 10 just announced they are playing a conference only schedule. Some anticipation that at least the other P5 follow suit, whether it ends up fall or spring. Curious what that means for the FCS-FBS matchups, do they get bought out or do they have some other out? Every school’s finances are in the toilet but could be a gut punch for FCS if the annual wealth transfer evaporated.

I was just thinking about that. I saw a ‘what-if’ story about Reno and their 4 non conference games. They had two payouts, including us, and 2 paydays. Net loss was in the $950k range. That includes $350k payout to us. That’s probably half of what we’d lose if we had to cancel our three (I’m sure we pay USD something) but our amount is a bigger fraction of our revenue

Speaking of Reno.......just cancelled my hotel reservation. IF we do play, I expect very limited tickets to the visitors. I guess I could go and get a haircut!

And there's no demand for hotels. Unless there is some fundamental change in the ecosystem, you could probably walk into any property on the day of and get a room.

true; I had found a really sweet deal at the silver legacy so booked it. I’m sure I can find another if things change. Last time I was there, Finn and I got the sports book to show the playoff selection show (after the causeway up there). That seems like a lifetime ago

Chancellor May announced today that UCD would have enough actual classes in place to accommodate our foreign students to allow them to get around Trumps ridiculous new visa rules. Not only is Trump incompetent, he is an extremely mean and cruel racist. By all accounts, he is the worst president this nation has ever elected.

    - 3.5% unemployment (pre-Covid)
    - our President who funded Historically Black Colleges, signed major prison reform, and produced the lowest African-American unemployment rate ever - is racist?
    - 600,000 new manufacturing jobs (pre-Covid)
    - According to author Michael Pillsbury, author of the 100 Year Marathon & China expert, the Chinese consider President Trump our sharpest and toughest president since Eisenhower.
    - all this while the FBI, DOJ, CIA and DNC spy and attempted an unprecedented coup?

Blue states want to shut down schools, why? I understand being very cautious, but the infection rate is currently below the flu's rate. Even doctors in Walnut Creek (John Muir) warned of suicide rates through the roof, and this 10-day-to-flatten-the-curve turned into a 3-month shutdown contributed to nationwide looting, rioting, arson, dozens of murders and a 200% increase in New York shootings? Why? Hysteria, and because some liberals want to tank the economy?

Rapidly declining Biden means a Socialist bartender, Bernie Sanders & BLM run our country. Looking forward to a $90 Trillion in Green New Deal taxes? ($600,000 per household)

And California community colleges will start play in January, ending in April. Recruiting will be different. And no JC kids with early enrollment to attend spring ball

The college football landscape continues to shift in response to the coronavirus.

I wonder if Hawk would consider offering an "exhibition" game with Berkeley or Stanford?
