The Aggies will try to win their 4th game in a row when they tangle with the Mustangs of Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo at 2 pm today. Defense and rebounding have been the recipe for success recently for the Ags and the defense will be challenged today in an effort to stop Poly's duo of Abbey Ellis and Sierra Campisano who scored 37 and 20 respectively in their win over Riverside 75-70 on Thursday.

Ugly win, but better than an ugly loss. I thought Song made the two key plays. She made a nice on-ball defense which forced their PG to throw the ball away which lead to the basket that put us ahead to stay. Then she hit the 3 that extended the lead from 3 to 6 points, which in this game, was insurmountable.
Hmmm.... although this may be a rebuilding year for the Ags, since the Big West Conference appears to be historically bad, the Ags are probably good enough to have a decent shot at winning the conference.
Stobbart is now becoming the biggest headache for our opponents for the rest of conference play. How can you stop a 5 on the perimeter that can.knock down the 3?. No way. OK leave the paint open. Let Konrad and friends pound in the paint. Good gsme Aggies.
A confident and aggressive Stobbart certainly makes this team a lot more well rounded. And she was matched up last night with an 6'3" Oregon transfer, so it's not like she produced against a stiff. If she can continue this production on both ends of the floor, this team will be hard to beat in the BWT.
Svanholm 6'6, Lily 6'5, Stobbart 6'3, Jones 6'3 and Gibb 6'2 along with Cierra Hall who is only 6'0 but plays like she's a 6'3 rebounder. It will be interesting to see how Jen uses all this height.
My opinion is you don't change anything--just keep running the offense (it works!), but with a height advantage at every position. Find the mismatch in each game/quarter and work it.
I'm hoping that all this height can *move* and *defend*.
From what I have heard, Jones’ strength is as a great defensive player with a huge wingspan. Lily will score a lot of points. We move Stobbart to a wing and let her fire away from the 3! Remember, we get Nina back next year as well. What a line up!
