The Aggies continue on the road today with the second of 3 challenging road games in a row when they travel to Malibu today to face Pepperdine at 2 pm. Both teams are coming off losses in their last game: the Ags played the Minnesota Gophers tough before losing in Minneapolis 76-67 and the Waves got thumped on their home court by the Runnin Rebels of UNLV 69-44.
One question mark for the Aggies today is whether or not Sage Stobbart will be able to suit up. She was in the stands at the men's game on Monday evening and had a boot on her left foot.
Live stream from the West Coast Conference at 2 pm and Greg Wong will call the radio PxP on KDVS 90.3 FM.
Defense playing reasonably well. Offense has been hot and cold, but that's ok as long as the defense is there. Coach won't be happy with 8 TOs before half. Almost everyone got double digit minutes.
In the early going there weren't many Ags under their offensive hoop to rebound. Lots of white Pepperdine jerseys (often 3) in the paint with no Ags. Not our best look. Improved over the course of the half. Stobbart has had a few blocks in the paint.
Missed layups and open looks from 2 feet have happened way to much as a team this season. We are really missing a interior attack. Stobbart doesn't seem comfortable against physical players in the paint and does not shoot with confidence in the paint. I keep waiting for her to break out.
Today the Ags just seemed to be out of sync and not getting after it with the intensity that they need to win close games. We have often started slow this year and then rallied from big deficits. Today we started fast and then lost the big lead in the 3rd quarter. It's hard to figure this team out...something is just not clicking...
