    Interesting. He was fired by WSU after having the worst record in their history. Not sure what he did at Sac State. But Hawk knows talent so hopefully he will contribute.

    Online says he's still at Sac State...not sure what the story is.

    A feel-good story to keep your eye on: two generations of Davis High offensive linemen are working together. Paul Wulff (Class of 1985) has come to UCD as an offensive-line assistant, where he's working with Nick Amoah (Class of 2017). Amoah is hoping to win a job at tackle in the veteran Aggie trenches. Ex-Devil Wulff is the former Washington State head coach who most recently was an assistant at Sacramento State.

    He’s not at Sac State any longer. He was the offensive line coach/ offensive coordinator, not retained at the transition last February. The new offensive line coach there is the father of our two Richardson offensive linemen.
    Wulff was the offensive coordinator for Hawkins on USA 2015 football team according to a post here three years ago by aggie6thman;

    “One name that might fit the mold and has deep connections with both Hawkins and the city of Davis, is Paul Wulff, the current Sac State Assistant Head Coach, Run Game Coordinator, and Offensive Line coach. Wulff was born in Woodland and attended Davis High School before heading to Washington State to complete his undergraduate education. Wulff was head coach at Big Sky football power Eastern Washington before taking the reins at Washington State where he was released after three years. Since then he has bounced around but has landed back in the region and just completed his first year with the Hornets. Not so coincidentally, Wulff served as the offensive coordinator for USA football in 2015 with Dan Hawkins.”
    My guess is he’s just volunteering to stay involved.

    Wulff is a great add at a position group that demands toughness and perfection.

    Runs are typically made when you have a veteran, proven QB. And a strong D.

    The interpersonal dynamics might be challenging with an assistant with head coach and offensive coordinator working with or under younger less experience offensive coordinator and offensive line coaches. Hopefully it all meshes

    Sac will be a new study in HS coaches jumping to college ball.

    Let's not underestimate them though. I'm not sure what it is, but for as long as I have followed Aggie football, they seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Also, wasn't Mattos a HS coach before being HC over there?

    Of course they have a chip on their shoulder, but what else have they got?

    But lest we not forget, Troy Taylor and Wulff were coaches in college previously. So it's not a straight HS to college transition. Wulff is trying to resurrect his career doing something he enjoys and in his hometown too.

    The comparison movielover was making was between Wulff who has many years of D1 college head coaching experience and his replacement Kris Richardson, who has spent the last 24 at Folsom. I’m not denigrating high school coaches, far from it as so many high school coaches later coach college. But it is a stark contrast in background between those two.
