The father of Aggie RB Tehran Thomas has passed away from cancer at the young age of 45. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in March. He coached football and track and field and was devoted to working with kids at risk. He sounds like he had a huge impact on the lives of many kids in his short life.

Thomas also was a devoted dad, who never missed his son Tehran's football games at Desert Edge and at UC Davis.

Tehran Thomas was a mobile quarterback who led the Scorpions to their only state football championship in 2015 as a junior when he made The Arizona Republic's All-Arizona team.

"Coach would go to see his son Tehran play at UC Davis on a Saturday, a day after coaching the previous night with the varsity," Copper Canyon head football coach Sean Freeman said. "I admired how he was with his children. We would have a daily conversation talking about the growth of Copper football to becoming a better man.

"He was a great mentor and friend."

Sorry for your loss. He passed at a way too young age. Sounds like a great dad, and a great mentor for all he touched. My prayers to you and your family.

That's tragic. All condolences to the Thomas family. Maybe we can do something for them.
