With the new 4 tier system that factors in road games into opponent difficulty, beating even mediocre to lower tier power schools will help make a case for an at large bid. We’re currently 95 in rpi. Beating a 75 rpi team on the road is considered a tier 1 win. Plus it gives us exposure to quality opponents.

My hats off to this team. Control their own destiny on the last game, despite the circumstances. Players stepping up, locking down on defense, hitting key shots, buzzer beaters. Still hoping Chima will be back, but can't count us out without him. Les will have them hungry on Sat and certainly throughout the BWT. Go Ags!

Having heard absolutely nothing, we naturally want info and it brings about speculation. It could be spot on. But could also be 100% off. We're running out of time. We need a gift from the basketball gods. Hoping this isn't something too serious.

This may be a good thing learning to play w/o Chima. Let’s just hope he’s back soon. We could use a Shorts, Schneider, Chima trio in scoring. Plus Chima’s defense and rebounding

I don't want to read into it too much, but the fact that Chima was on the bench with the team is a very good sign. If his suspension was so serious he wouldn't play again, it doesn't make sense to be on the bench with the team. Then again, he might just be there for support. But overall I think it's a good sign.

Gotta give it to the Gauchos. They were unstoppable beyond the arc. Lots of talent on that squad. Hopefully we'll have Chima back to have a good shot at returning the favor at the Thunderdome. This team never gives up and has grit. That's a recipe to compete in every game. Moneke would've made quite a difference in this one.

I would say best case we’d be looking at a 14 seed. But realistically we need Moneke back to have a good shot at winning the Big West tournament. The road win vs Beach w/o him is reassuring but 3 games in 3 days w/o him would be brutal.

Then if we somehow win the BWT, no Moneke basically removes any shot we’d have at all in the tournament. Keep in mind a 15 seed plays top 10 competition. Les’ teams are gritty and no doubt overachieve but he needs tools to work with. Chima causes mismatches against almost any opponent. Let’s hope he’s back soon.

In terms of attendance, marketing needs to think outside the box to draw fans. I like the interviews at Woodstocks. Definitely a positive step. But perhaps something that will resonate with the demographics of the Davis community: recognizing professors/ projects, pro- environment nights showcasing our university’s green efforts, maybe even going after a wider geographic footprint: Sac, Woodland, etc. what more can the team do? 18 straight wins. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the tip- messaged both as well. Who is in charge of streaming? The fan base, recruiting, alumni donations are all being affected. While our team just won 17 in a row in the Pavilion, this kind of crap is holding our program back. No excuses for this! I think we should message Jim Les directly. He seems like the kind of guy that would rectify the situation very quickly. Good win. Go Ags!
