  • 2024 Week 10: Northern Colorado (1-7) @ UC Davis (7-1)
If Lan Larison doesn't get the Payton Award, I'd like to see the guy who does. He'd have to be the reincarnation of Sweetness himself.

Even if Northern Colorado scores at the end I predict the Aggies will win this one.

Weird stat: ESP showed the following times of possession after the first quarter: UNC - 23:46, UCD - 21:08. Someone was asleep at the switch. Now it shows 25:49 and 20:12 respectively. Aggies hot negative time!

Thanks. So he's not super fast, but more than adequate.

What is Larison's time in the 40?

Didn't realize that UNC's QB is from Hawai`i. I have bit of a soft spot for the Bears because an old friend of mine, also from Hawai`i, was once the president there. I think the school has a lot of students from out here.

That was almost too easy. The crowd does look small. Odd, with the way the team is going I would think the turnout would be huge.

For those who don't know, Loco Moco is a dish peculiar to Hawaii consisting of rice, a hamburger paddy, gravy and a fried egg.

Let no one confuse me Toke, more of a shooting guard, with Toki, who outweighs me by about 200 pounds.

I'm no expert on probability, but if there is a 25% that the Ags lose all three, wouldn't they be 8-4? Plus wouldn't you'd have to factor in the probability of losing to UNC?
  • FCS Rankings
This is surprising on two counts: The Ags did not win a game to move up and USD moved down despite losing a close game to a higher ranked team. What might a W over Montana State do? (I know, one game at a time.)

Looks like SDSU and SDU will be holding onto the 3 and 4 spots, at best trading places.

Now tied 14-14 late in the 4th quarter.

I noted that Cal is 0-4 in the ACC but I hadn't realized that they lost all four games (including two to #6 Miami and #19 Pitt) by a total of 9 points!

Thanks. Odd that I only noticed it this fall.

Is the term "shredville" something new this year? I can't find where, how or when it started.

Just read Gauchofreg's analysis of the men's team. He sure got it right about the total being more than the sum of the parts under Coach Les. That's what makes it so hard to predict how they'll do, but there sure seems to be a lot of potential there. I wish they weren't opening on election day. I'll lkely be too nervous to focus on the game.

I tend to agree with BlueGoldAg. The real trap game was one we all sniffed out against Portland State and that should have instilled a strong awareness among the coaches and players that they can't take UNC lightly. Maybe this is a subject for a new discussion, but it seems to me that Coach Plough is doing an incredible job as a first time Head Coach. Considering he inherited most of a 7-4 team from Dan Hawkins, he should be getting some accolades in the post-season if the Ags can get to 10-2.

It's never had the kind of attraction for major college athletes that the natural beauty of the islands might be expected to have. Now with NIL, etc. even less so. Not many big money sponsors here.

I'd have to agree with you that the Pacific Ocean is a pretty big pond. It impacts football here negatively, though. It makes recruiting to Hawai`i difficult and the lure of the Power Four conferences makes it hard to keep the local talent local.
