Doss had one reception for 6 yards in today's preseason game against New England.

I very much admired Chima's hustle and basketball IQ. I suspect his biggest problem in the NBA is that he is a "tweener": too small to be an effective power forward and too slow to be an effective wing. If he can find the right niche on the Kings, he might make the roster, but I wouldn't bet on it. If he has learned to shoot the 3 really well, that might do it. I'm not sure why the Saints picked up Whelan. Their punter did really well last season and he is only entering his second year. There are about a half dozen teams with problems at the punting position even after 3 punters were drafted. I'm going to predict that the Saints cut him and he winds up with another team.

I just read that the Big 12 might go after Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Arizona and Arizona State. Can there be a Pac-4? or will they try to add BYU, Boise State, Nevada, Hawaii, San Diego State and San Jose State to constitute a diluted Pac-10? Ugh! this is why I prefer the FCS with less emphasis on the big money.

One of the commentators tonight noted how badly UC Davis was hurt by all their cancelled games. losing game experience, continuity, team cohesion and flow. Considering how well this season started, I have to believe there is a lot to that. We can hope that those players who might come back will look at next season for redemption and not leave out of disappointment and disgust with what happened this year. It would be great if things could get back to normal and the team could play a full season. As for tonight's game, it is really hard to figure how the team could have missed so many lay-ups, especially Manjon.

Nice to see the Ags making free throws. The 10 point difference over the Mustangs in free throw shooting was literally the difference in the game. We know that the Fullerton game is winnable. Go Ags!
