  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
First Qtr stats are very even except time of possession: Bengals, 10:23, Ags, 4:37. TOP is often misleading.
  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
Why did Hawkins decide to go for 2? What? Me worry?
  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
A reasonable final score might be 35-3 or 45-13.
  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
The NCAA FCS poll finally gives UC Davis some votes (13). Athlon's poll has us ranked #22. I guess some folks take strength of schedule into account, as Sagarin (UCD now 8th) always has.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Anyone else think that the Hornies are over-rated? I mean, the collective record of the Big Sky teams they've beaten is 4-16 and Colorado Stat is winless.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
The biggest comeback in the second half in college football history was 35 points: Michigan State in 2006 vs. Northwestern.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
59-17! This is where I leave early to avoid traffic. Unfortunately, I'm not in the stadium and it's a long way back to Hawaii.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Smart play by Hastings. One thing I've always noticed about UCD athletes: they all have a high sports IQ. Of course we know that all Aggies are smart, but having the know-how to detect the best pay to make in a split second is something special.

D has not gotten any pressure on Brasch. One thing that people talk about it points off turnovers, but it seems to me that a TD scored after recovering a fumble on the opponents 5 yard line is a lot easier than scoring a TD after an interception in the end zone (e.g. Buchanan's) and scoring from 80 yards away. The former is a gimme. The latter is about the same as scoring after the other team's punt.

Technically, an average is equal to the sum of numbers 1-N, divided by N, with no restrictions on N other than that is usually an integer, but what I wrote is nonsensically intended to be nonsensical. :)
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Yuck. Either Cal Poly is a lot better than their record suggests or the Ags are not taking them seriously enough.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
One of the commentators said that Gilliam is now fourth (fifth?) all time in receptions for UCD. Does anyone know which former Aggies are ahead of him?
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Aggies averaging 59 yards a play on offense.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Not a bad opening drive for UCD. One play, 7 points.
  • [Sea] Former UC Davis star Chima Moneke is signing with the Sacramento Kings, according to sources.
Chima got into the Kings' game against Memphis: 6 minutes, 2 boards plus an assist, but two fouls for a -9 on the +/-.

And Bossie Cow Cow (do they still do that) and Song-girls with denim skirts (they need to bring those back).

Most of you guys probably remember Rich Ellerson. I was his TA when he took a Psychology course at the University of Hawai`i back in 1976. Makes me feel really old that he's probably retired now. Check that. I AM really old.
  • Week 9: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
Checking on Sagarin's ratings, I see that he has Sac State as the top rated FCS team just ahead of South Dakota State and 43 places above UC Davis.
  • Week 9: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
I see that the NCAA rankings put 6 Big Sky teams among the top 14 schools in the FCS and the Aggies have played or will play 45 of them. Sheesh! Of course, with our 3-4 record, we get no votes, as opposed to the likes of 4-3 Campbell and 3-3 Stephen F. Austin. Same as it ever was.
  • Week 8: Aggies (2-4) at Northern Colorado (2-5)

I was able to see the game on ESPN+ but I just checked their "Event Replay" listings and couldn'tg find it. You might want to check later to see if they post it late.
