  • MBB: UC Davis (16-12, 9-7) at Cal Poly SLO (7-22, 1-16) Sat., Feb. 25 at 3:00 pm
Bad news: Anigwe not starting. Good news: Ty looks to be back to his earlier aggressive form on both offense and defense.

Any news yet on who is going to be able to play? Anigwe and Milling, I hope. I would love to see Ty break out of his doldrums at this point of the season and, of course, see ELi Pepper break the season scoring record. Go Ags!
  • MBB: UC Davis (16-12, 9-7) at CSU Fullerton (16-12, 10-6) Thurs., Feb. 23 at 7:00 pm
I can understand why some teams would be upset with UCD's use of this no contest provision. On the face of it, I would seem that the Aggies could play with a lineup of, say: Pepper, Johnson, Adebayo, DeBruhl and Rocak with Mani and Borra for depth and be somewhat competitive, but without a very good chance of winning. If this were the Big 12, as per DrMike, they would have no choice, but we have no idea if all those players are healthy. I would think that in order to have this game called, the Big West would require some kind of medical documentation, but HIPPA prevents it from being public. On th eother isseu, you'd think the Big West would clarify the rule as to how many players have to be out for a no contest decision. It seems that we are simply spinning our wheels without more information.

Has anyone heard anything about the status of Saturday's game at SLO? It would seem doubtful.

Scott Marsh said at the end of the UCSD game that Anigwe was lying down and did not look very good. If the game had not been cancelled, he would not have played even if the others were healthy and he, along with Pepper, is the one guy that the team can't be without. I feel terrible for the players, who I am sure would have wanted to compete for a win, but a cancellation is better than a forfeit or a loss.

Maybe none of the student athletes in attendance were included?

Sorry, it isn't based on any sampling so no confidence interval.

From what I remember of my probability course, I'd put the odds roughly at 8%.

Thanks. I must have been looking at the Fullerton page and saw the L. What a blunder. I'll edit the post. Between my mild dyslexia and encroaching senility, someone else will need to start these discussions next season.
  • MBB: UCSD (9-18, 4-11) at UC Davis (15-12, 8-7) Mon., Feb. 20, 3:00 pm
It's such a relief to hear Rob Williams do the color after the last two road games. He's smart, explaiins well, calm, and relatively objective

Doesn't help that Pepper has hit a cold streak( 2/10). I expect him to snap out of it in the second half.

Yes, even disregarding his suspension, Ty seems to have slipped a bit in his game the last few weeks. He really does need to find his groove, the sooner the better.
  • MBB: UCSD (9-18, 4-11) at UC Davis (15-12, 8-7) Mon., Feb. 20, 3:00 pm
Does anyone else think it odd that Pepper seems to have a scoring ceiling of 32? Not complaining, just think its odd.
  • MBB: UCSD (9-18, 4-11) at UC Davis (15-12, 8-7) Mon., Feb. 20, 3:00 pm
Does UCD get ay say in the scheduling, like maybe a representative on a committee?
  • MBB: UCSD (9-18, 4-11) at UC Davis (15-12, 8-7) Mon., Feb. 20, 3:00 pm
Anyone know why the BW thought scheduling games on Prez's day was a good idea? I think the only other Big West school that has to do an away-home-away triathlon is CSU Bakersfield and they don't have to travel very far to do it. Plus The Beach gets a bye.
  • MBB: UC Davis (15-11, 8-6) at UC Irvine (18-8, 11-3) Sat., Feb. 18 at 1:00 pm
The Fullerton and Long Beach games will be critical, but they can't let down against Cal Poly or UCSD.
  • MBB: UC Davis (15-11, 8-6) at UC Irvine (18-8, 11-3) Sat., Feb. 18 at 1:00 pm
This was a very poorly officiated game. Lots of non-calls when there were clear infractions and calls when there was nothing there. At least (unlike the Super Bowl) none of them affected the final outcome as the refs made bad calls both ways and none at the end.

I feel bad for the team. This was their third loss by one lousy possession. Three plays made the difference versus UCR, the Beach and today. We could have been 11-4 and in second place. I know--what's done is done. Gotta move forward and hope that they can get healthy and win the tournament somehow. I agree that they don't have the talent some other teams do, but no other team has this much heart.

Heartbreak. No moral victories here, but they guys played well in the second half.
  • MBB: UC Davis (15-11, 8-6) at UC Irvine (18-8, 11-3) Sat., Feb. 18 at 1:00 pm
It's been a game of runs. I hope the Ags go on the last one at crunch time now and can pull the upset. Go Ags!
