  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Next week should be better. The Ags better take out their frustration against a struggling UND team at home.

  • Mikey Henn is transferring
Looks like he's looking for other options.

I can see that happening. Although it would be a surprise if we were placed at a 15-seed or higher, considering how bad our conference has been recently.

  • Coach Gould
    http://www.davisenterprise.com/sports/teresa-and-ron-gould-its-a-tough-farewell/

...listen to what Teresa told me last week about the announcement of the Aggies playing at Stanford in two seasons:

“Ron doesn’t like it. It’s heartbreaking. In 2018, those seniors? Those are our kids. It won’t be an enjoyable day for us. Ron says, ‘It’s like beating up your own children.’ ”

“Being at Stanford after 20 years in the UC system is going to be a little bit different for us,” says Teresa, who says her goal now is to become a full-time football wife. “Playing UCD so soon? It’s not going to be super-fun. Those Aggies … are still our family.”

By the way, the date of the game — Sept. 15, 2018 — is Ron Gould’s 53rd birthday.
  • MBB 2017 Recruits
    ↪BlueGoldAg
I also figured it's a long shot. It's mostly wishful thinking since most of our PG are shorter than 6 feet (no disrespect) and he's 6'5!

By the way, thanks for posting the link. Maybe they decided to take down the article from Hawaii Tribune-Herald since a fan from their "Big West brethren" took notice.
  • MBB 2017 Recruits
Looks like Coach Les is planning on bringing in another guard, Bryan Alberts, a 6'5" 198lb former Gonzaga PG. He's a graduate transfer but still has two years of eligibility--- enough time to finish a Master's degree.

"Alberts announced last month that he was leaving the Zags in hopes of finding more action and a wider role somewhere else. The search has so far taken him on visits to Weber State, UH, Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara. Word is that he also might work in a visit to UC Davis or save one in the event an 11th-hour opening occurs at a Power Five school."

  • Ags Will Play at North Dakota State in 2019
Any chance we get a home game against these guys?
  • Mikey Henn is transferring
He'll be playing DI basketball again in 2018. CBU will be competing in the WAC starting at the 2018-19 season. Only downfall is the Lancers are ineligible for post-season play until 2022-2023 season. Luckily for him, he at least has one DI conference title and an NCAA DI Tournament win on his resume and we all know where he got it from :P

Maybe he's homesick? If he were to play closer to home, he could be playing for UDub, Seattle, or *gasp* Gonzaga? But in all seriousness, I wish the best of luck to him.
  • Chima Moneke wins College Insider Riley Wallace Player of the Year Award
A nice shoutout to Chima from Bleacher Report:

"The latter was the 6'6" double-double machine from UC Davis who captured our hearts as a man from Nigeria who has not seen his parents since 2009. In the First Four win over NC Central, Moneke led all players in both points and rebounds, finishing with 18 and 12, respectively."
