• Week 1: UC Davis (0-0) @ Cal (0-0)
I believe all Hawks practices are closed. But maybe someone could get a student concessions person to grab a quick look to see which QB is with the first unit. Or use a drone. Maybe a silly idea!

What happened to the blue gold scrimmage. Did I just miss it?
  • Speckman moving on
The guy was a player no doubt. Love the music too. I see a little TT and LL there as well. UG is just plain steady and great. I think we are going to be pretty good this year. QB still the big deal.
  • Should Cheer Leading be an Olympic Sport?
Pickle ball anyone? Probably the fastest growing sport in the world.
  • Doss to NY Giants
Does anyone know how to remove the old Aggie tapatalk site form the current Aggie sports site. Very annoying and it is very tight and Will not go away easily.
  • Ags Picked 5th in Perseason Coaches and Media Polls
From what I gather from the roster info, Dixon has never thrown a pass in D1 or any level of college football. So I don’t know where all the enthusiasm over him is coming from. But, what the heck do I know? Newman had very impressive stats at CCSF. That I do know.
  • Ags Picked 5th in Perseason Coaches and Media Polls
I will just chime in here to respond to the bee article today and its mention of who the starting Aggie QB will be this season. I do not think that miles Hastings should be considered the front runner. He is an outstanding athlete but his last two games last season were disastrous. Way too many interceptions and a lack of mobility cost us those games. So my thought is that jack newman a transfer from CCSF should possibly be considered the probable starter. I base this on his CCSF record and the opinions of my brother in law a HS coach and sonoma teacher who watched him play while a coach at sonoma valley high school. His main talents are that he is fast, throws very few interceptions, can throw on the run left or right and is real threat to scramble. Few downsides but he is not real big or tall. And that is what took HR down. Probably a good recruiting decision as our OL was a bit porous last year (maybe be still?) and this guy apparently can deal with this probably better than Hastings. At least IMHO.
  • Will the Dobbs decision affect woman’s athletes?
Very good points fug. I wish I could cut and paste this fascinating article but it is just not possible. The major points the article makes is not mainly Dobbs effect on recruiting, but what effect it has on the athlete effected and her coaches. College ICA is male dominated with 75% of ICA administrators being male. Probably higher in D1 and much higher in the power conferences. The NCAA rules are now silent on what coaches can do or even say about the right of the athlete to have an abortion. Did you know that a student athlete has to waive their health privacy rights if it impacts participation? I did not. A student athlete must therefore disclose a pregnancy as it effects participation. But then what can the coach in say Texas do? He cannot now say You can have an abortion. Absolutely not unless he wants to get arrested and sued and fired. Find some rich donor to whisk them off to California for an abortion? Again, Illegal. And this. What about the male who participated in this situation? If he is an athlete and his pregnant partner can’t play, should he be able to play? The NCAA has a lot of work to do on this subject and it is silent as on now. That’s the main point of the article IMHO.
  • Will the Dobbs decision affect woman’s athletes?
Good point 72. But this was in the Washington post’s sports section. Not politics. Not opinions. I do agree this site is very football and MBB oriented as is usually the case with university athletic sites. I will only add that UC Davis woman’s teams have been quite a bit more successful than our mens teams all things being equal over the years. Jennifer Gross is the best ICA coach in the BWC and in Aggie history save Jim Sochor. We need more woman on this site!
  • Will the Dobbs decision affect woman’s athletes?
Interesting that there is apparently no interest in woman’s sports on this site on the issue of reproductive rights, abortion rights, Anti abortion laws, and forced birth laws. I would’ve thought we would be more . . say interested in this topic. . . .
  • Gilliam Named Preseason Big Sky Offensive MVP also Gilliam, Pettek & Parks on 1st Team
We we’re great until Rodrigues went down and we never recovered from that. Hawk has an offense that must rely on a quick quarterback that will improvise like jake was able to do. If we get a guy like that again we can do well next season. I never thought that barrier’s OL was all that good but look what he did. Joke about his Fanny but he absolutely killed us and all,of the rest of the BSC. Praying for a new and talented QB next season. Hope it happens but I will be in Ireland watching all of their very entertaining events not the Aggies.
  • Brooke Yanez and Oregon softball
Is there any limit on how many transfers a player can make and still be eligible? What would happen if so many kids transferred rendering their old team ineligible for lack of players? Very unlikely scenario but possible. Didn’t Oregon lose a lot of players to Texas when it’s coach moved to Texas? I believe that was why they poached Brooke in the first place.
  • Idaho State Assistant coach arrested on murder charges
If barriere was so bad not to get drafted, why was he so exceptional in the BSC? He was fast, he could throw and he was very effective against the Aggies. Just asking . . .
  • Idaho State Assistant coach arrested on murder charges
Will Barriere be drafted? Speaking of EWU. Probably not real high. It yes is my guess.
  • 2023 Football Recruiting
So I think the OT board is off line. Just want to say that Aggie alum Sister Simone Campbell ‘77 was just awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the president at the White House and our university has yet to even mention it. I met sister Simone one time when she was a 1L and she was a person you could just tell was to be a formidable warrior in the fight for human rights. And she did that and more. I was told she played a decent second base on the gals team. Never saw it. But it qualifies now for this thread! Go Nuns On The Bus!!!
  • USC, UCLA eyeing Big Ten move by 2024
And what about the “minor sports”? Can you imagine the. COSTs of sending uclas baseball team to Maryland for games? Woman’s crew? What about their classroom time. Crazy. Why didn’t the PAC 12 comish see this coming? Teresa Gould? Maybe they both are now looking for new employment opportunities. It’s all about the money and nothing for the athletes. Sad and sick IMHO.
  • USC, UCLA eyeing Big Ten move by 2024
Stanford and cal ADs must be shaking in their boots to be so blind to this. Especially cal with its horrible deficit of $400 +/- I exPect that the PAC *** is a goner. Stanford could go independent but not cal. Arizona teams and Utah Colorado are dead meat. So sad and all just for the money.

So Texas four star going to sac. Saw this awhile ago and thought nothing of it. Now bee has it on their sports front page. A done deal. I certainly have nothing against this kid. Seems good. But there is just something odd about this that’s not right. Came to sac because the sac d line coach comes from St. Louis as does he? Really. . . .
