• Peerless season culminates with Payton finalist for Davis WR Doss
Sure hope you guys are right and he comes back. He must have gotten some smart advice from a neutral party. If he does as well or better next year his stock will rise exponentially at the next level.
  • Practice field is going in...
CP just seems to have a lot of big givers for athletics which we don’t have. I would task Dr Blue to find out why that is so. We sure have a lot of academic giving- But not much for big athletic projects. If not for Bruce Edwards and the Schalls we would be close to zero. Do not have any idea as to why this is.
  • WBB 2 pm Saturday: Hawai'i (7-7) @ the Aggies (11-3)
Morgan has great mobility and quickness for a big. She could have gone 30+ of not fore some missed easy shots that just rolled out. Pele is getting her game on as well. Very confident UC Davis team out there today. They will be very hard to beat. Go Ags!
  • WBB 7 pm Thursday: Aggies (10-3) @ UC Irvine (8-6)
OK I’m no coach but fast down the court, quick passes and a smart point. We can do this!
  • WBB 7 pm Thursday: Aggies (10-3) @ UC Irvine (8-6)
Does this mean we face the 2-3 zone from now on?
  • WBB 7 pm Thursday: Aggies (10-3) @ UC Irvine (8-6)
Hope Morgan has worked on her 10’ jumper. Oregon states big 6’ 5” German girl just laid back and protected the basket forcing Morgan to take that shot and she did not make many. I am sure Jen saw this and Morgan has the skill to overcome the problem. Go Ags!

Are there plans for this project? I thought that swimming had its own offices at the pool. Like to see the project plans.
  • Death of the enterprise? Sac bee?
Maybe, but now they want UC Davis to spend its precious resources for what amounts to a sac redevelopment project. Go figure.
  • Death of the enterprise? Sac bee?
Agalum you have a very valid point. At least you and i read a newspaper together. We can agree to disagree on the content which is fine and good. But my main point is that ironically the bee (very liberal we can agree) is not a supporter of very liberal UC Davis or the City of Davis which the bee constantly dirides as that “quirky” little college town. So this is not a politically driven situation, especially when you consider that the bee is very supportive of UC Berkeley and covers cal sports much mor than UCD’s. IMHO the bee considers UC Davis/City of Davis’ positive image as a threat to sac’s and that is the reason for the lack of support. Therefore, we have to do everything we can to prevent the demise of the Enterprise. SUBSCRIBE TO THE ENTERPRISE!!!
  • Keelan Doss Named a Walter Camp All-American
I know he is probably gone and i congratulate him for what he has accomplished. He is a great WR. And certainly a great All American. I think that insofar as next year is concerned, we need a very improved DL and a RB more than we need a WR. I do not see that in the signees this time. 1 DL is all we got. Don’t see anything coming from the RS roster either. I know DL/RB is a very tough position to recruit in the FCS and it appears we are suffering for this years recruits. I hope I’m wrong.
  • Death of the enterprise? Sac bee?
It is very irksome to see politicians roll out these vague pronouncements to puff up their personal stature. This “Aggie Square” in sac idea is so flawed and seemingly unthought out that it is laughable.
Atlanta Ga. has the 4th largest number of Fortune 500 companies in the country and a GNP of 324 billion. Tech Square was essentially a $179 million redevelopment project immediately adjacent to Georgia Tech built on old disused parking lots in a rundown part of the city. Georgia Tech did not at all fund this project except to say that it would gladly use it for expansion. Georgia Tech is the proud recipient of tremendous philanthropic support from the likes of Coca Cola, CNN, Delta AL, Walmart, etc. compare sac: zero corporate HQs of any signigcance. Zero philanthropy from sac corporations to UC Davis. Zero UC Davis support from sac media. But the real kicker is UC Davis is 15 miles away from downtown sac (sac bee says more Yolo buses will fix that issue!). Why would any sane person support this? Sorry for the rant, but had to get this off my chest.
  • WBB 12:30 pm Friday: Aggies (10-2) @ Fordham (8-4)
I would add not bad for a game against the home team who got to sleep in their own beds and didn’t travel 3000 miles for the game. Travel stress will show up on the defensive side of a game every time. I Don’t think you can coach around it.
  • Death of the enterprise? Sac bee?
Just a follow up here. Recent sac bee editorial re: proposed UC Davis tech hub in sac: great idea, but “Aggie Square” is a no go name. Upshot: bee wants UC Davis to move a lot of tech, innovation and engineering resources to sac and will propose calling it “UC Square.” So, bee finally gets what it has always coveted- a “UC Sacramento” paid for by (yes) UC Davis. I hope the academic senate (or UCOP) squashes this idea like an ugly (and expensive) bug.

  • WBB 12:30 pm Thursday: Aggies (9-2) vs Yale (7-4)
No UC davis stats almost 3 hour after the game (inexcusable) . I only got the stats from the Yale site. By the way, if you want to see a great ICA website look at Yale’s. It is even better than Stanford’s which i thought would be the best. We are light years behind these sites. Really is embarassing for our program.
  • MBB 2:30 pm Friday: Aggies (7-4) vs Lamar (8-3)
Sorry, but I don’t accept the equal comparison of coaching football versus basketball. That is like comparing how a company commander in the army (200 men) leads his men to what a platoon leader in the company leads his men (10 men). A platoon leader has to really get close to his guys to be effective and a company commander does not. I loved Jim and his style of coaching but he would not have been a very good MBB coach. He would agree.
  • MBB 2:30 pm Friday: Aggies (7-4) vs Lamar (8-3)
I loved Ham. But he was a yeller and screamer and i loved that too. I think he was most upset when he thought his guys were dogging it and played without energy. I will never forget when he angrily left the bench and told the team to “coach yourselves”- he went into the stands with his towel. Remarkable guy. Do the guys hate Les? I really don’t think so. Look at the youtube he made with the seniors last year. Looks like a lot of love there IMHO.
  • MBB 2:30 pm Friday: Aggies (7-4) vs Lamar (8-3)
I agree. Another entirely different reason Les sat Chima was to make the team know that it can still score without him. Often with a star player teammates will push try to get him involved. Bad passes. Always Looking for their favorite player. General distraction from the game plan. Great game from John and Shorts. Good win!!
