This will be my last post on this subject. It is such a shame to have Chima miss the rest of his career at Davis. He was a charismatic player, a great post player, and a leader on the court. We will move onward from this unfortunate situation maybe better than before.

So he’s not back this week. Should we just accept “End Of Chima?” I do not think he is coming back at all at this point. Administration should really set this straight and clear the air on this long and tortuous ordeal. I will join some who say AD Blue is not up to the task on these types of “problematic” developments and just likes the nice stuff. Pretty face but no there there. . .

What ever became of Denham? He had real talent as a QB. I have no idea how he did as a preacher. I can recall sitting in front of his father during a game and hear his loud prayers before each play asking Jesus to please intervene for his son. It was a very strange experience to all of us around him. He must have been a preacher too.

And he got the glass!! Wish i could know where all those players are now and how they’re doing. What a great team for any level of play!

Did he ever play for the Aggies?

The team obviously is jellying in the absence of Chima and doing very well. Would it now be a disruption or a distraction if he now comes back to the team this late in the season? I bet Les might be a bit concerned which ever way it turns out. Like Blue, this is really getting old. AD must be pulling his hair out by the handful.

One question: is suspended from the team the same as suspended from school? If so, forget the team. Chimas academic status is being very negatively impacted and could hurt him for the rest of his life. Really seems unfair that thi is being dragged out so long.

Blue, i disagree. We did well with the FCP. Hey, you might be disappointed with this win margin. But when your team is up by 25 points any team will tend to relax a bit. My concerns: poor rebounding and very poor shot selection by some of our new players late in the game.

Does anyone have sound?

Yes great defense. But being able to regroup after the loss of a major player is much bigger. This team has real heart and skill. Someone said you cant coach heart. But maybe the players can coach it themselves. Still give coach les a real thumbs up on this one. Great game.

Sorry to follow, but nice new story on the UC Davis site regarding the status of the new woman’s sport. Very detailed and interesting. I guess we will know soon.

I think that the fact that this has been kept secret so long is amazing and is actually a credit to the university and the judicial process on going. Even the bee with all of its (paid?) moles inside UC Davis cannot get this info. My heart goes out to Chima and i wish him well.

I will see the movie; but do think it is humorously anti-Davis from what i hear. I graduated from UCD, married, had kids, got job in sacramento, and lived in sacramento. Not in the Fab 40s, but in south sac. Basically, not a nice place to live unless you don’t mind a lot of crime or live in a gated community. So ultimately i moved my family back to Davis. But, back to the points being raised, at my work i was often criticized for being a weird “Davisite”, from the People’s Republic etc. and this was long before the Toad Tunnel. I learned that many sacramento people have this totally inane concept of what Davis or UC Davis actually is. I came to believe that it really is based upon a fundamental insecurity and jealous thoughts about what is really special about Davis- clean, safe, beautiful, college town, kid friendly and just a great place to live. So i lived happily in Davis for 30+ years, then retired and moved to the Sonoma Coast. Oh yes and this. I could not get a place to stay in davis last Halloweeen after i took my brother to SMF. Why i asked the motel clerk: “well many, many alumni bring their chirdren back to Davis to enjoy Halloween like they did because its so fun and safe here. They have very good feelings about Davis” Lastly, church attendance: “weird” Davis higher than sacramento. Go figure. . . . I do miss Davis!

Well, apparently, no mention of sac state, the real local institution of higher learning. So i guess we will just have to be happy being “the boring ag school” as mentioned in a movie. Maybe Greta has hurt feelings over st francis high school’s many beatings by Davis High School. I still think it was a cheap shot aimed at a sac audience. If its better than Breakfaast Club i will go. If not, I don’t like coming of age movies and will wait for amazon so i can pause for a toilet break.

Forget the process; i am now seriously concerned about this young mans health and well being. He knows he may have let his team down (his main support group at Davis). He’s 8000 miles from home. Not seen family and parents for 8 years. This must be seriously depressing for Chima. Yet, i do believe that AD Blue will handle this properly and that there is a reason for this delay that we simply do not know at this time. The total silence may actually be a good thing. Like all of you I HOPE!!

Well, i will tell you that Morgan is the toast of the town in Santa Rosa her home town. We are very proud of her. Did you know she was not recruited by any other D1 school/coach but for Jen? She was the first scholarship player ever recruited out of Santa Rosa HS. She almost went to sonoma state? Did you know that she is a biomedical engineering major, one of the most challenging majors in the UC system? There was a big story in the Press Democrat about her a week or so ago. Sorry i cannot bring it up now. I love that girl!!!

Class act!

Well at least we have the Ladies to follow. Arguably one of the best teams the Ags have ever had in any sport male or female. Morgan on track to break all kinds of scoring records before she graduates. I don’t think they get nearly enough credit for what they have accomplished so far. Sac bee doesn’t even print their scores and the attendance for their games is less than one might expect for a team with 20 wins. I hope they win out their final conference games and then on to the playoffs.

Talk about two sport athletes. Does anyone remember TIM LAJCIK? He was an all american in football and wrestling at UCD. He is a UCD hall of fame person. He then got into WWC. You have to see this youtube of him: “Tim Lajcik: Unlocking the Cage”. You will be very proud of an Aggie that did all the fighting stuff, then acting and is very well and soft spoken and intelligent about all things we all can elate to. Tim is a very impressive guy and a role model. Wish we had him now!
