• 71st Causeway Classic: UC Davis vs. Sac State
    Internsive purposes?
Must have received an English Degree from Sac State. But for all intents and purposes, I guess he made his point.
  • UC Davis @ Montana State
My main point was from an overall FCS exposure standpoint. it really only works for state of Montana hosted games. The NAU game was an embarrassment (listed attendance 5,000 but really only maybe 2,000) and Sac State game wasn’t a whole lot better with poor attedance and poor camera work.

Theissue with the ESPN broadcasts, while in theory good exposure for the team and university, is that there are some “non-optimal” conditions. It’s pretty clear tje late night games are at the assigned to be clear of the power 4 games, and even with that the preceding game overrides the start. 7:30 PST starts in reality more like 7:45 (8:45 MST) are ok for Pacific folks - and many MSU fans said they did not like the 8:30 start ((MST), and pretty much a non-starter on the east coast. For viewership experience for those viewing - only Montana State and Montana show full stadiums and game fan excitement. The Sac State-Montana State game was on a Friday night and attendance wan not good (maybe as many Montana fans as Sac) so not the best look for FCS football interest building. The Idaho-NAU game was on Halloween and there were virtually no people in the stands - again a bad look. Also, you do get a ESPN “C” team at best on the call. So, IMO maybe not a program that is not quite as cracked up as advertised unless you are a Montana school.

don’t know if this image has better resolution. Idaho got hosed on this call. When watching the game, all the views shown were not nearly at this angle or revealing.

    Pinnick is an absolute warrior.
I know he threw a couple picks, but man is he a fighter and leader and fun to watch. I also thought Ty Richardson had a good game the defense played pretty well. Pass protection was less than desirable.

Man, no idea what happened on that one. Don't know if that's on the WR or Pinnick but someone screwed up
… referencing pass to Simpson …… just watching 2nd half on Sunday …too late to stay up on east coast. I think there was miscommunication. First look seemed lock Pinnick just threw right to defender, but end zone view looked like he expected Simpson to break to middle but Simpson just sat down at a spot.

I think the ball was tipped.

Man if fisher catches that - a big gain.
  • UC Davis @ Montana State
Maybe just go to a worm burner if you can’t kick it into the end zone
  • UC Davis @ Montana State
I think the passing game will be needed to open up the run.
  • UC Davis @ Montana State
Great touch by Caden and Simpson again a big weapon.
  • Other Games, 2025
SDSU may end the season with 5 straight losses. They play UND in Grand Forks - a tough place to play.
  • Other Games, 2025
Losing to an SEC school, even a mediocre one - should not hurt Tennessee Tech.

I’ll add that special teams need to be on target
Agreed. I was in Bozeman in 2022. One of the reasons the Aggies lost then was poor kickoff coverage and strategy. The pooch kicks absolutely did not work (sound familiar) and Sean Chambers was a beast that night. When healthy he was a very good runner and a better passer than Mellot. Montana State fans were very civil.

I don't think that Cali weather that (they have), they don't see none of that at 8:15 in Bozeman, ooh wee.”
Said by someone from southern California-a bit ironic.

Try sling tv and 1 day or weekend pass they have for sports. I have sling and haven’t had to deal with the contract fights like on YouTube TV. Of course these disputes always happen at peak college football season to gain maximum leverage.

from Ploughs remarks about having Fisher tote the ball 25-30 times a game from now on, it appears Vargas is out for the foreseeable future. Hope I wrong.

Can you imagine going into a restaurant in Bakersfield or Redding and seeing a UC Davis poster?
Only game in town (besides Montana). Makes a big difference
  • WEEK 11: UC Davis @ Idaho
There were many key player performances, but I thought Khalani Riddick had a very nice game. Good tackling and a good job on punt returns. He’s been a real stabilizing influence in the defensive backfield. Stanley has stepped up too and Batson has shown improvement. Nobody can replace Rex but collectively the backfield has gelled. Gonna really need them these next two games.
