the coaches poll is a joke. Besides the Ags being ranked too low, North Dakota should be higher and Idaho State could beat most of the ranked schools. It seems much of the ranking is based on memory from last year. As long as the coaches don’t vote in the playoff seedings and this poll does not influence that - I don’t really care. As many have said - polls are too easy to get hung up on.

Does anyone know the criteria or process of forming the playoff selection committee?

I truly believe that the Ags are the better team, and clearly so this year. The Ags have mote team speed and more weapons. Snead can be rattled so pressure and containment on him will be critical as well as ball security. The one thing I am a bit worried about is the erratic punting game - and of course it is a difficult environment.

ya.... and I note that their 3 point victory over northern iowa was not subject to the same logic.

Dropped like $30 on verizon overages watching from a campground in VA. Worth it though. Didn’t see first quarter but what struck me:

1. Cal poly played very conservatively but that is playing their strength (fullback Prothro). Aggie defensive scheme was spot on with personnel and alignment.
2. For the first time in a while the talent Chasm was quite large. UCD obviously had way more talent than Poly. It was like watching 2 levels of football. Run or pass was pick your poison for Poly. Yes the stats weren't That different but that was because of short fields etc. Never have been under less stress watching a game -and knowing there was virtually no way Ags would not win.

3. “Almost” felt sorry for Poly. Was weird seeing the 2 bands in the field together. When I was in band-uh they would not let us on field so we didn’t travel to their house - yet we didn’t reciprocate and they were in field at Toomey.

Yes, the Ags May lose in the coming weeks but if they pant anywhere near their potential they easily could run the table. Of course with 19 year olds and college football anything could happen. They are SO FUN to watch.

I am seriously thinking about going to Fargo next year. Could wend across the Midwest with wife and travel trailer and tailgate in Fargo.

I guess they couldn’t take that to North Dakota.

Great explanation of all the things associated with stadium construction. Thanks for the education and logic. I had the opportunity to visit the new Texas A&M stadium a couple of years and listen to a presentation by one of the project managers. Very interesting technology used. They essentially demolished 1/2 of their old stadium in 2 consecutive years and had it ready about 1 week prior to the season both years. Of course it is A&M where they are pretty fanatical about their football and pretty sure donations are not an issue (or perhaps even endangered armadillos).

To me expansion doesn’t make a whole lot of sense until there is sufficient and consistent demand for seats. I think it is more exciting to watch a game in a full smaller stadium than in a sparsely filled bigger one. Every time I watch San Jose State on TV I ask myself “where are the fans”. It doesn’t seem possible that they have the 12,000 or so in attendance that is listed in the game stats. South Dakota State just redid their stadium - they seem to be more of a cohort/model.

Correct, and rates have to do with capacity and number of applications. Stanford doesn’t have to do much marketing to get a whole lot of applicants so acceptance rate is going to be low.

Another wrinkle with the academic stats is that schools may have to accept 2 to yield 1, etc.

The ISU Liberty game is intriguing. Liberty has been all over the map with thier biggest win perhaps Troy (formerly State and fomerly D2). Liberty is one of those schools hell-bent (pun intended) to go D1a (FBS). They used to be big South. UNC Charlotte, South Alabama, Georgia State are all similar in their 0-60 in 6 second approach with new football programs to go FBS ASAP. Must be a southern thing. If ISU is not too bummed out from last week, I think they have a good chance of winning.

yes there are. You just have to use the back arrow to go back in history one day at a time and it will list the events for that day as a “replay”. Nothing up yet for the ISU game - I think it takes s few days before it’s put up and linked to a server. I am hoping that since it won’t be a live stream it will be much more stable.
