Oh, if I'm playing QB - a passing QB - it's no question, I'm coming to Davis, though it is an ultra-competitive atmosphere in that room.

Though you see all this RPO from Plough - and it only has two threats currently, with little/no threat from #7. When that changes how will the offense evolve?

  • Where can I watch past games?

Welcome to being a Davis football fan!

You know why I got the history wrong was because I went on the school athletic website for historical data...they only covered a 2009-2015 window, show we've played 8 times, and display a 1-3 record. Link

Rewatching the Tarleton State @ USD game --- I like the Aggie lineup vs. this club. Tarleton runs such a unique offense, it's hard to gauge the Coyotes defensively. They are very opportunistic - bad passes become turnovers, but they gave up a lot of big plays vs. the Texans.

Like Davis they have a lot of weapons on offense, they grind it out with Theis and Pierre Jr. - then pop a big one outside with their speed guys. Bouman is a big slingin' dude, he sees the field very well, like his decision making. Yotes like to control the clock, let their big dogs eat up front.

Several games, they've given up early leads, but like Davis, they show tremendous resolve. Don't see any panic in South Dakota - they look experienced, and not a lot of dumb penalties.

Aggies are 1-3 lifetime vs. South Dakota, three of the 4 previous matchups have been played in Vermillion...this will be the 4th out of 5.

Hard to believe, but yes the student culture has shifted so far now that these students do not value football or the gameday experience...like at all. That picture was only 17 years ago...I graduated 4 years before that - and everybody in my class were rabid on gameday, it was a complete and total party, and a social thing for much of the campus. We all went back to study on Sunday, but Saturday afternoon and evening were slotted for supporting the team in the Fall.
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
University of Arkansas is what I heard BG.

As to Aggies turning down NIL money to go play at another school, an almost always 100% more athletically centered school, I think it's a testament to the value of a UC Davis education...and also the commitment by the players who choose to come here - and finish what they start.

Marketing and Admin. aren't creative when they need to be that's for sure. If Saturday's game had been on ESPN2 I think they would've expended more effort and thought up of clever ways to fill the East stands.
  • POST GAME THREAD: AGS 42 ILLINOIS STATE 10

Hastings was nearly flawless in the home playoff opener. Playing on the road it the playoffs will be a different animal. Curious if Jake has any tips for dealing with a visiting playoff atmosphere, and if he has any memories or has he got to play in a lot of domed games? Also, having the 3rd round following finals week...how draining is that, and what is practice like during that week?

From the replays you see that whenever South Dakota scores a TD they do a blackout effect during the celebration, flashing lights and what not - seems like it should be banned because it may cause a safety hazard for anybody in the crowd going up and down the stairs. Regardless, it's going to happen next Saturday when USD scores.

    Some side questions:
    1) What did he think of the vs. Illinois State performance?
    2) What was his favorite uniform combo back in the 2018 season? The Smokies?

CA Forever did a great write up, but couldn't help but notice the speed in watching all the film.

Along with #5 Sr. RB Theis, #3 RSo. RB Pierre Jr. and #2 RJr. QB Bouman (formerly at Iowa State), the Coyotes feature threats of great speed in #4 RSo. WR Quaron Adams (Phoenix, AZ formerly at Iowa State) and #7 So. RB Keyondray Jones-Logan (Orlando, FL). They really pop on film with splash plays.

Looking at the Yote roster, most of the players are from around the midwest, and two from Canada, but seeing a lot of skill position guys from Maryland and Florida.

South Dakota also has what appears to be 2 sets of twins on the team, all of them Offensive Linemen. Jordan and Josh Larsen, Ben and Sam Kohls.

Will the Aggie Band go? The Aggie Band doesn't even go to Portland State - why would they be allowed to travel to Vermillion?
