Totally agree with you on skill set but Gale was never really an in-line TE. He’s a big slot and that should have been a valuable role considering the lack of speed outside and the size of the inside receivers. It was 10 vs 11 the first half of the year with Williams plugged in to that H spot.
The MWC teams have some money allocated to NIL. Davis will need to figure out if it wants to be in the business of paying players. If it does not, moving up will be a colossal failure. Recruiting these days has almost nothing to do with the school, the coach or anything else. It comes down entirely to the best financial offer.
Roice Cleeland transferring in from UW where he was a walk-on guard. One of Cam’s kids. Prepped at Portland-Jesuit. Should have 3 years of eligibility.
Nobody is debating that the NFL will find NFL talent. Most guys are not NFL talent. The roster spot alone in the SEC pays 100k, compared to 0 at the lower levels. Most guys do and probably should take that bag of cash.
Because you get paid in that pond and those Aggie names were 100 years ago. Surprised Bains hasn’t found higher level interest as an experienced depth piece.
No question. I think with Williams his versatility looks great in shells at 3/4 speed but it never really translates to game day and he’s not an H. Simpson is a different story that dude can play.
Two best outside rushers in the last ten years were Mason Moe on Hawk’s best team and Cam Trimble a couple years later. Bryce Rogers was a good interior pass rusher. It has probably been 20 years since there was a traditional edge that could consistently get pressure.
