• Week 2: University of San Diego @ UC Davis
Yep!...We did and it was fun to watch. The boys had a good time last Saturday!

PSU is going to be a tougher opponent and it remains to be seen if they can have that same success this Saturday.

Cal, USC and UCLA players not getting any or enough game time transfer to MWC schools like San Diego State. They can still play big time ball, be seen on tv and have a cool college experience. Not happening at UCD!
  • Week 2: University of San Diego @ UC Davis
Glad to see UCD win this one early in the season! The players were having a good time, making some plays and getting into the endzone.

I like the no huddle fast pace offense!

Reality Check: As I see it...
I didn't see any improvements on either side of the ball from Game 1 to Game 2. They were simply playing a less talented team.
OL still a work in progress
RBs can't make it to the edge
QB holds the ball until the receiver comes out of his break then throws. Hopefully he is being coached (next level stuff) on how to develop the following skills sets: throw into windows and timing (bang bang) plays. A requirement to be successful at the D1 level.
CBs giving Doss a 7-10 yard cushion on 1st down and Aggies not taking full advantage of it. Timing play to the sidelines on 1st down and it is 2nd & 5 all afternoon until the defense makes an adjustment.

Next game is going to be tough! PSU is going to be hungry for their first win of the season.

At the risk of sounding like an arm chair coach...

I noticed in the SDSU game the the CBs covering Doss were giving him 7-10 yard cushion. I kept wondering if the coaches in box saw that and if so why not have Doss sprint toward the corner to move him off his spot then stop and turn around to catch an easy 5 yard gain.

Then its 2nd & 5 with two more downs to get 5 additional yards. Could have done this all afternoon until SDSU made an adjustment. It's not sexy but it moves the ball down the field!

I'll be looking for that this Saturday.

Jeez!!!...what's with the Aggies marketing machine? I couldn't find anything on tonight's coaching show at the designated site(s)...saw a few pics on Twitter...and nothing anywhere about this upcoming game...soooo

I wandered over to the USD site and read this if anyone is interested...

How can Aggies Football expect to build hype and excitement in the general population if there is no...err...umm...hype to get excited about!
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Diego State
UC Davis has to beat USD this Saturday! If not, we could be looking at a 0-11 or 1-10 season.

They need a win even if it is only by 1,2 or 3 points...a win is a win however ugly or small the margin may be!

    After USD we are facing:

    #9 Portland State
    #5 Weber State
    #1 North Dakota
    #2 Eastern Washington
    #3 Northern Arizona
    #4 Cal Poly

With a new (young)team and coaching staff, if we are at 0-9 at this point it will be very difficult (not impossible) to keep the motivation and belief high enough to finish out the season with a win.

    The last 3 games...

    #13 Idaho State
    #7 Southern Utah
    #12 Sacramento State

Portland State has played against two D1 programs and have a week off to prepare for UCD. Then we go against the top 5 schools in the conference!
