• Big Sky membership changes are coming
I like to dream to but @Siouxfan' description of the WAC looks like a nightmare to me. I'm holding out hope for a great run of success at FCS over the next 3-5 years, and sliding into SJSU's spot in the MWC when they inevitably throw in the towel.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington v2.0
@fugawe09 Last year my 10 year old daughter had a soccer game in Woodland. I thought it would be fun for her to eat at the DC with the college kids. I guess i talked up the variety and quality of the food a bit too much - she was not impressed.
  • Get the Band-uh to Cheney
@Oldbanduhalum I can attest from personal experience that having the Band-uh in our corner on the road in a hostile environment means A LOT to the team. I remember being entering the field in Missoula to a chorus of boos, feeling a bit intimidated when we heard, in the distance, softly at first, the band-uh's cadence getting louder and louder, and then they turned the corner, marched down the tunnel and joined us on the field. We were ecstatic. This is a really terrific development.

    so it's pronounced "CHEE-KNEE," Interesting.
  • 2018 Big Sky Conference Football Championship Gear
Looking at some of that gear makes me so glad we seem to be migrating away from that dumb horse/Denver Broncos ripoff logo. So inauthentic. The lemon CA is true to our heritage.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
@PortlandAggie, that was my era as well; Kenny Kane was remarkable. I think a good portion of students came to see him as much as the game.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
And bring back Kenny Kane, aka the "Chicken Man."
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
14 likes so far. Not sure if I'll call that encouraging yet, but that's a great marketing idea. I really hope it works.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
Is there a reason students can't just arrive at the gate and get in with their student IDs? That's how it worked back in the DII days when Aggie Pack was born, and thriving. Why place an unnecessary chore in the way of an already apathetic group of students? Seems like this is a change Blue could implement quickly - just show up, and you're in.
  • Bring back the Cow Bells for the Playoffs?
@Aggiescribe, since you're in touch with Dunning, can you also ask him about Cowbell-gate? My mother is still irate that they were banned! Ask Dunning to lead the charge with some investigative journalism and let's get our home field advantage back.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
@zythe I don't think the post is offensive at all - it's very accurate. I remember talking to other students about the game I'd just played in, and they sincerely would ask the question "we have a football team?" And that was during the DII run of success. We're talking about a big paradigm shift.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
That's really dumb - changing game starts for ESPN scheduling I can understand. For the tens of people watching ROOT Sports? I don't think so.
  • Schmidt Back with the Bills
@movielover don't remind. me. 4th and inches on the opponents 7 yard line? Field Gould.
  • Schmidt Back with the Bills
That’s probably thanks to coach Gould’s offense. I predict punting skills will be less refined in the Hawkins era, and I’m fine with that.
  • Week 10: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
There’s plenty of room at Aggie Stadium for 12,000. I think @fugawe09 educated us on the bathroom/exit limitations that Fire Marshal Bill uses to set limit. Bummer - there were tons of seats at ISU even though we were “at capacity.”
  • FCS Bracketology
Gentlemen, let’s savor this. After the last 10-12 years, this is just amazing. The Hawk-aissance has gone far better, far more quickly than I dreamed it would.
  • Week 10: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
@CA Forever To be clear, I'm not worried. Ags are never worried. I just respect this opponent and believe that their recent record doesn't their strength (particularly if Cookus is back).
  • Week 10: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
@Riveraggie I am with you. I think this team has suffered without Cookus the last couple of games, but they lost to Eastern Washington Sept. 8 by only 26-31 and beat Weber State on October 6, 28-24. I would love if we drop the hammer on them, and think we are capable of doing so. But this is a good team that's had a bad couple of weeks. I'm sure Hawk is drilling the players on that fact.
