Also, the Celtics had 27 all stars in the 80's and yet they won fewer titles than the 60's guys. As Bill Russell once was asked. If the Bulls played the Lakers at each teams prime, who would win. Jordan of course said the Bulls, and Russell of course said the Celtics. And, then Russell said it is because the the teams of the 80's all wanted to show off their stuff on the court. Make a tenacious block and send the ball out of bounds. That was not Celtics ball. Russell said we did it differently. We tapped the ball into the air and then went after it, and score a fast break 2 points. That is a 4 point turnaround- the 2 they didn't get, and the 2 the Celtics did get. The players of the 80's would knock it out of bounds, just to give it back to the opposition. This was show boating , and not a winners mind as he put it.

Gauchofreg, I am referring to the Celtics of the 60's, where the Lakers had 3 guys you can easily say are definitely all stars- Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlain who many think is the greatest of all time average over 50 points a game one year and the Celtics won 12 titles in 14 years.. Against the Celtics, who had Bill Russell, and without using the computer to look up former Celtics can you name 3 or even 4 players who are an equal to the three I have mentioned (Lakers players). Most people know 1 at most.

There was a shooting forward during D2 days who was pretty remarkable named Mark Olson. Nice shot and could consistently shoot over other players.

He could be quite the RB. Did you see the Sac game, where he took a lateral or pass in the backfield, and went 90 yards out running the Sac DBs? And, then later, he runs over guys and gets extra yards. Also, after he went 90 yards outrunning the DBs, the Sac announcers say something like he is a big bruising back without exceptional speed. Umm, was he watching the game?

Good Luck tomorrow Kellan. I looked at the other WR's to receive the award, and you are right there with them. Many QBs this year had stats that would make them considered for the award, but you were far and beyond the best receiver in all of the NCAA.

Tehran Thomas appears to be a stud RB. Have you watched this guy play? He reminds me of a RB who played for the Oilers in their Heyday. I cannot remember his name, but he was a load.

Yeah, but when a QB puts up 40+ points he should win! That is the fault of the defense. So, a win is a team victory. But, offense by itself is all a QB can control. Dan Marino never won a Superbowl, but he was definitely one of the best QB's of all times when it came to passing.

Well, I believe you can pretty much eliminate most the of QBs, because I seriously doubt there were 12 better than Maier. And, there were NO WRs better than Doss.

Sometimes the passing game opens the running game.

Our rivalry with ND has always been pretty good. We were both excellent programs and respected each other in the D2 era. I think most Aggies realize ND has a great football program, and we have always respected them. I would hope we can give them a great game when we meet again. Good fans in ND too.

The Gould era was a total failure on gameday. It was run, run, pass. Pretty predictable and this really makes it almost impossible to execute plays if the defense knows what to plan for. Things like failure to go for it on 4th and inches is pretty bad, as it is almost impossible to stop.
If I have the ball 4th and inches in their territory, I would do a play action pass. I would have the big boys huddle with the coach on the sidelines, and bring in the receiving offense after the timeout going straight line of scrimmage, and throw for the TD. First downs are nice but there is no better time for play action than 3rd or 4th and short, and lead the defense to thinking run. The defense either calls a TO, or the offense has a huge advantage with a wide open downfield.

PSU likes to run the ball. We need to force them to pass, and get a little pressure on the QB when they do pass. The Torero QB had pretty much all day last week.

The hand clap is something that maks it easy to get the defense to jump. You just tell everyone it is on the second clap. Except the opponent of course. We did this many a time when I played. And, usually save it for late in close games on things like 4th and 4.

Well, if you are not sure- don't sign. It's like buying a car or a home- once you sign you're committed.
This is best learned early in life, rather than allowing people to think they can change their mind later.
That doesn't work with many contracts. It is best to learn when you are young, than learn later the hard way.

Actually, these kids commit too early and then just go back on their word. It's not a good trait in an individual. If their word means nothing then there is doubt in there ability to keep a commitment Not good when it comes to getting a loan.
