Tompkins left foot is almost out of bounds
  • 2024 Week 6: UC Davis (4-1) @ Portland State (0-4)
Tompkins catch was across the plane. There was a Viking player who pushed him forward after the catch. I have a screenshot where Tompkins arms are curled up behind the ball and his arms are at the goal line

The one thing you had to.look at is defensive turnovers. This left a shorter field for the Ags to travel and time possession. The Ags kick off and leave a longer field to get yards and not core. Hence the yardage differential really isn't a big deal.
Lets say a team kicks off and the three times they kick the defense gets the ball and returns it for a TD.
Now say the subsequent kick off the team gets it and marches down the field, but misses the FG.
The offense gets the ball and scores a one play TD. Then kickoff and the fumble #2 occu rs and the defense runs it in for a score. Then on the next kick off the other team again marches down the fiels and scores. After this scenario the team losing big will have more total yards, but they are still losing.
Now because of errors, but they have a greater TOP and yards, but are still losing due to errors.

Well, i believe the other teams will take notice of that particular play. And that could be a good thing. Do the same play , a pump fake to the receiver, then the receiver does a go route.

Well, it looks like playing football is either a job or they should have to pay for their tuition. If it is a job. The admissions go out the window and you just pay kids to play football representing the school.
It sure isn't about education anymore. So, let's not pretend.

Thanks Russ. That answers my qurstion. I figured there was an exemption for a kick, but there was no kick.

    Question for all

On a fake field goal attempt the holder takes the snap and he is on the turf, isn't that mean the play has ended because bhis knee is down when he catches the ball?

You want to fix.this ? Well start a.National Academic and Athletic Universities NAAU and every FB S team is not allowed to enter this entity. They will be NCAA which does not need academic requirements. Also, n colleges would not offer scholarships to FBS players. Let the NFL subsidize these athletes.
They will be minor league footba!l for the NFL. So, if the NCAA is to survive let the NFL foot the bill, pun(t) intended.
All players in the NAAU would be.the new recognized collegiate sports entity and disassociate from the NCAA
The NCAA only cares about the money anyhow. Proof is U of Montana finished behind UC Davis last
year and got a playoff bid, And UC Davis did not. All U C Davis losses were to.highly ranked FCS team or FBS. The worse loss was by 14 points. They got in because of their attendance and not because they were more deserving. ProofNCAA is persuing dollars.over academic. and athletic success.of the athletes

I use to remember in VA that the temp use to be in the upper 90's a few storms would pass through and the steam from the street would rise up like a huge cloud.
I do miss the T-Storms thought. You know Gods 4th of July. I have seen ball lightning in VA too. Not often, but it occurs. A pretty awesome sight.

I grew up in New England and Virginia, and played sports all the time. The only thing I noticed
was needed more liquids and electrlytes. If you did this you never seem to have problems. Maybe, a few more breaks to hydrate, but I never wanted to leave a game to hydrate. I would do it during timeouts.
VA and TX are about the same.
  • 2023 Week 1: UC Davis @ Texas A&M Commerce
Davis is routinely in the 100's from July to October. Everyone talks about weather in their part of the world. But, Davis weather isn't much of a difference as far as temp as Texas.

  • 2023 Season Preview
Yes, he is a light end end, and he is being covered by a slower DB. That is why most his catches go the distance. He is faster than the defender. Thus, when he is in the TE position, the defense will either have to go lighter themselves or risk getting beat for a TD. A ery fast TE makes the defense change also. So, this could go either way. But, my guess is this will slow the pass rush, just having him on the field, as the rusher will need to make contact with him rather than rush around him. Certain moves drastically alter the defensive scheme of the opponent. Likely time outs called, or they have a defensive play set for the faster TE, and thus makes a running play more effective as you have smaller faster guys on the field. These smaller faster guys I believe the small lighter TE can handle.
I see defensive lines go with 3 down lineman and 4 LBs. But, my guess is the TE is much faster than the extra LB after seeing him run after the catches last year. Maybe, go with another defensive back instead of an LB?
I am not sure, but as a defensive coach, I sure would not go with the standard defense and hope he doesn't get targeted.
