• WBB: 2018 WNIT Tournament
UCD is making some nice cuts. Beautiful.
  • WBB: 2018 WNIT Tournament
I'm looking ahead. If UC Davis wins, then they'll play either Kansas State with an RPI of 89 or Utah with an RPI of 115 before today's game.

The committee will likely choose a power conference team as the next home game although UCD holds the better RPI at 73.

Yeah. I'm already projecting my bitterness. I'd like to be wrong, but you all know I'll be right.

Let's hope Utah wins so that should improve UCD's chances of getting a home game.
  • WBB: 2018 WNIT Tournament
UC Davis has a slightly higher RPI over Wyoming before today's games at 72 vs. 76. Of course, I'd rather have the next game at home.
  • MBB: 2018 NIT Tournament

I presume if we look at historical data of previous NIT top seeds, the top seeds probably had won the vast majority of the time. Top seeds are probably dejected, but they are talented enough to win nevertheless.
  • WBB: 2018 WNIT Tournament
Heh. I never knew that the WNIT had 64 teams, and apparently they don't seed the teams. Why don't they seed the teams?
  • Women's Big West Conference Tournament March 6-10
So many close college basketball games lately. I'm not sure I can take this much stress every season.
  • Men's Big West Conference Tournament March 8-10
Aggggh. Hawaii - UCI game is a nail biter.
  • Men's Big West Conference Tournament March 8-10
Keep it going, Hawaii! I'd rather play Hawaii over Fullerton. Of course, the dream scenario is Cal Poly and then Hawaii for the Championships.
  • Men's Big West Conference Tournament March 8-10
    Long Beach vs. Fullerton

Who do you prefer the Aggies to play against if there are no other upsets today?

I'm trying to figure out who I should root for. I guess I'm slightly rooting for Long Beach.

480p is asking for too much. Just make the feed work for at least 90% of the time. Baby steps fist.

I vote for a more reliable video feed.

I thought i read somewhere that Blue gave Les the go ahead to recruit internationally. I would love to see Les recruit like how what I think St.Mary's does. I think they like recruiting people from Australia. Just get an international pipeline from somewhere else while selling the strong points of playing in California and in an internationally renowned institution would likely give us an edge over our peers. :chin:

My impression was that Delveion Jackson was ahead of the depth chart over Rogers Printup and perhaps Mooney early in the preseason. He seemed to play like a freshman meaning that he was still learning, and I thought he was getting minutes primarily because he was known as a defensive player. I personally didn't think he stood out when he did play. I just agree with movielover that we need depth for the postseason.

If I recall correctly, we recently had Logan Strom suited up as an emergency player. I personally don't like seeing that.

I always thought Delveion's status as just as mysterious as Moneke's. Didn't Delveion play one time after Moneke's suspension, and then he disappeared again?

    It's just strange, strange, strange.

I just see BlueGoldAg post before this post, but I don't want to change my content if it's the same as BlueGoldAg's.
  • Would Tougher Non-Conference Schedules Be Better for MBB & WBB?
I personally don't think so. UC Davis is projected to be a #14 or #15 seed if we are fortunate to make the Big Dance. That's probably not good enough for a home berth in the NIT although I haven't studied the historical trends. I personally believe there's a bias towards the power conferences for at home berths.

Just look at the UCD Women's team from last year. In my opinion, we should have gotten an at home berth vs. the school that beat them at the quarterfinals(?). That school had a losing record yet they were rewarded an at home berth. Was that school Washington State? I can't remember without googling it.
  • Would Tougher Non-Conference Schedules Be Better for MBB & WBB?

We definitely will not get an at-large bid. Mid- majors with RPI from the 20s to 50s historically have been denied at-large bids. Besides, we currently have a tier 4 loss against Fullerton. That may change since Fullerton is at the cusp of being a tier 3 loss at home. I'm curious what the cutoff would be this year though with these tier 1 to 4 emphasis.

I don't know. I'd rather play in an empty noon game for two reasons.

    1. You get the most amount of rest before the semi-final.
    2. A hostile home team crowd is generally worth an extra two points or so to the home team. That advantage won't be there in an empty arena.

I'm just happy we clinched at least an NIT bid.
Jim Les is an awesome coach.
We sure know how to win nail biters.
I'm very impressed with this season and the player development.

My only question that I've asked several times over the last few weeks is "What's up with Delveion Jackson?" That guy always seems to be missing in action, and I just don't know why.

I was so close to turning off the game when we were down 5 points.
