  • Ags add two more games at Cal
    ↪Riveraggie
    - Yes, sounds like he had surgery for a torn ACL but should be back this year.
  • Doss to NFL or not?
    ↪aggie6thman
    - Good points. One concern is him transferring to a bigger pond for his last year of eligibility (grad school).
  • Doss to NFL or not?
    Doesn't look like it: http://walterfootball.com/draft2018underclassmen.php

Fingers crossed that website is exhaustive...
  • UC Davis Dream Team Debate
    Point: Dante Ross
    Shooting Guard: Corey Hawkins
    Small Forward: Mark Payne
    Power Forward: Chima Moneke
    Center: Jason Cox
  • Bama vs. Minnesota hoops
The Tide actually outscored Minnesota 30-22 over the course of the last 10+ minutes while playing 3-on-5. And Minnesota is the #14 team in the country right now!
  • New recruits for 2019
The Enterprise includes some commentary from Coach Vaughn about the new recruiting class: http://www.davisenterprise.com/sports/diamond-recruits-schedule-revealed-by-ucd/
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
Special teams was BRUTAL. We gave up a long kick-off return, which negates our one good return. Our kick-off return game was otherwise indecisive and out-schemed. Our pooch kicks were poorly placed. Our punter dropped a decent snap in the end zone and hesitated (when he would have had time to kick) before having his kick blocked for a safety.

The field position battle clearly favored SUU and their execution on 3rd downs was far superior to ours. They are a tough opponent... hopefully we find the magic to beat Sac State.
  • Field Hockey 1-9
    ↪69aggie
    - Women's soccer is definitely young, and they had a grueling out-of-conference schedule. But they are now 2-0 in Big West play after beating Cal Poly 2-1 this afternoon. Hopefully they can keep it up.
  • The Millennial AD: UC Davis' Kevin Blue

    - Funky looking shot, but sneaky quickness and good handles!
  • Mikey Henn is transferring

Being the big fish in a smaller pond has it's perks.
  • Fixing the Aggie baseball team
I don't understand why teams (like baseball) that struggle to draw fans charge non-students for admission. It is self-defeating. Fans who can't stay for a long time aren't going to pay to watch (much less park if the game isn't on a weekend) if they don't feel like they're going to get their money's worth. Getting drop-in fans might be a good way to raise the program's awareness.
  • Fixing the Aggie baseball team
I think getting guys who might need a redshirt year to be D1 ready would be a good plan. Find projects who are hard workers with good college projection who may get overlooked by programs that go for draft-ready high school seniors.
  • Les Could Be Considered for New Mexico Head Coach
    New Mexico, though?
  • Les Reportedly to Be Interviewed for Cal Head Coaching Position
    http://www.davisenterprise.com/sports/bruce-gallaudet-im-motivated-to-stay-here-build-this-upward-says-les/

This article is encouraging on two levels:
    1. Bruce asked Les directly about his intentions and reported on it.
    2. Sounds like Les is likely to stay, probably with a new contract.
  • WBB WNIT: Aggies (24-7) @ Colorado State (25-8)
If you were told that Bertsch would foul out and have zero points, I doubt anyone would have guessed that we would have won a road playoff game against a Pac-12 team. Good team basketball - way to rally, Ags!
  • Selection Sunday
Good article from the Sac Bee about Darius Graham and his dad reflecting on the season: http://www.sacbee.com/sports/college/ncaa/article138131863.html
  • Ags vs. 'Eaters: For all the marbles
    ↪movielover
    - In particular, Arell Hennings was a guy I hadn't seen play much before, and he came in and provided solid minutes. He plays good defense, a la Darius, and didn't make mistakes on the offensive end.
  • UC Davis Aggies vs NC Central Eagles @ Dayton, OH
    ↪eastbayaggie
    - good catch. I had assumed it was a post-HS prep school, and I stand corrected. Still unusual to have just one guy in the program who didn't transfer in.
  • UC Davis Aggies vs NC Central Eagles @ Dayton, OH
Three interesting facts from the NC Central roster:
    1) They have no freshman on their roster,
    2) No one on their roster enrolled there straight from high school, and
    3) They have no one listed taller than 6'8".
