Davis hasn't played hardly any of the new MWC teams over the last decade; Wyoming (lost) and Nevada (won) were the two that jumped out in my quick scan of past recentish results. Based on last-year's NCAA NET rating, WBB will probably be mid-pack in the MWC. That said, NET rating had Davis behind several BW teams that they beat head-to-head, so.... who knows.

It's always interesting to see what bench players do when given significant starter minutes. Katie Toole was pretty quiet in her initial season as a transfer bench player and then lead the team in basically every scoring stat as a starter the following year.

UCD athletics page advertising this as the "final Causeway Cup," btw, and touting a 16-4 Davis record over the 20-year history of the CC.

Gotta make room for every team in the SEC and B1G, I guess. :roll:

Without getting into a much larger debate about what activities are sports and what are games (thank you Ken Purdy!), the "sport" aspect of equestrian is both the athletic ability of horse riding in general, but also the ability to communicate to/with the horse by body position shifts, rein position, etc to get the horse to do complicated things.

Just like good race drivers are fast in just about any car, good riders are good on totally unfamiliar horses.

Irvine will be in the WBIT (the new NCAA consolation tourney), unseeded, playing San Diego State.

Davis got invited to the WNIT; haven't seen a bracket yet. Could potentially play against future conference-mate Air Force, which would be funny.

Sussex made it onto the All-Tournament team.

I only got to see the stat sheet--looked like they were pretty whistle happy given that two Highlanders also fouled out (and two more had four fouls). Wacky.
