• Sac State to get a New Stadium
Sac could be making a lot of noise. This is the same campus that added an MMA program recently, backed by their president.

In the past, the axiom was that an institution had to raise one-third of needed funds in the 'silent phase' before announcing a major fundraising drive. Maybe Rocko is lining up $15-20 million right now.
  • Sac State to get a New Stadium
    Like Stanford's new stadium?

Would you have a ballpark estimate on a second tier of seating above the current student section? Say, an addition that's 5,000 seats, and 10,000? That would also likely include a modest concourse, snack bars (2), restrooms, and likely one elevator.

We have some construction professionals here, right?

    What do a 5,000-seat and 10,000-seat second-deck grandstands cost?

Notice Sac has no details on costs or financing.
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
Yes, and $25-30 Million to stay. What a bonanza! But how many years will that lock them in?
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
It sounds like a cost of $125 - 150 million for a government town and commuter school.
  • 2024 Week 4: Utah Tech (0-3) @ UC Davis (2-1)
I'm told the opposing team was making fun of us, and hated our effective Band.
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
Except Sac has poor HS facilities.
  • 2024 Week 4: Utah Tech (0-3) @ UC Davis (2-1)
The Aggie Band played a KEY ROLE in our NCAA DII National Chamionship in men's basketball. They DROVE 2200 miles to Kentucky, maybe 30 I'm told, stayed at alums homes on the way, and took finals in Kentucky!
  • 2024 Week 5: Idaho (3-1) @ UC Davis (3-1)
New Coach Plough presser. I like this, authentic, real, confident, positive, not arrogant. Their defense sounds tough.

A win here would be big, a statement win. Go Ags!

What are the costs for increased scholarships, NIL, gender equity and travel? (I hope ICA has had those numbers for years.)

If we got $4M, would that pay for most of it?

John Canzano is an excellent sportswriter based in Oregon. His recent post / fast moving developments:

"I knew the Pac-12 was annoyed with the Mountain West Conference but didn’t grasp just how pissed it was until Tuesday.

"The Pac-12 unveiled its hard feelings in a complaint filed in the Northern District of California. The conference wants the poaching penalties that were included in the scheduling agreement with the MWC deemed illegal by a judge.

"It wants the court to know that it tried to work reasonably with the Mountain West but ultimately felt pushed around, bullied, and backed into a corner.

"It wants an open and free market.

    "It wants UNLV — basically.

"The lawyers win again, right? ...

"Pac-12 staff was frustrated as it ended the negotiation to extend the football scheduling agreement with the MW earlier this month. On the Sunday night when negotiations broke down, one source called the MW’s position “delusional.”

"The court filing on Tuesday underscored that. It also indicated that the Mountain West wanted to boost the annual scheduling payout from $14 million this season to $30 million next season...."

Make the move bc of football? How big of an impact does that have on the Olympic sports, and we severe our ties with sister UC schools. Why not stay where we are, increase the size of UC Health Stadium, and see how things shake out?
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
Why isn't the large Sacramento-Modesto-Turlock TV metro a big deal? And both Sac and Davis have a large alumni base.

FTR, a few Mountain West stadium capacity:

    - Utah State's - 25,513
    - Nevada - 30,000
    - SJSU - 30,456
    - Wyoming - 29,181

Ms Gould allegedly was targeting several southeast schools including Memphis, Tulane, and South Florida, but they publicly recommitted to the ACC today.

Reports today also say Air Force allegedly staying in the MW.

Rumors Pac Conference also talking to the Zags and UNLV.
  • 2024 Week 5: Idaho (3-1) @ UC Davis (3-1)
Could Biggs be a part time, low stress consultant?

Speckman brought the fly and maturity, so did Young. If I recall, Cody also started out predictable, running UG and others up the gut 90% on first down. I had Gould flashbacks. We've also had several game 'managers' at QB.

Would Kevin Daft (Dartmouth OC) move laterally to come home as OC? At Princeton, he helped secure "35 wins in his first four seasons, the most over any four-season span in program history." My guess is his wife and grandparents would vote YES. FTR, he recruits SoCal and Texas.

Hopefully we get untracked this weekend. Go Ags.
  • 2024 Week 4: Utah Tech (0-3) @ UC Davis (2-1)

OK, they wanted an antiseptic band. Why ditch the UC colors and classic CA?

Good bands are known for strong bonds, creativity, and passion. Aggie coaches all raved about band support, so did the players.

In a halftime broadcast last year with Scott Marsh, the chancellor said something like 'we're working on big things, but we can't tell you more'.
  • 2024 Week 4: Utah Tech (0-3) @ UC Davis (2-1)
A few times when I belt out "Let's go Ags!" I'll get funny looks from the wine and cheese crowd.

How does the UC Davis Band compare to the Band-Uh?

How are the student leaders this year?
