Is it possible the coaching staff starts out with a conservative game plan? NAU was 90% run in the first quarter.

Glad to see they finally played TT! Maybe a few more studs are redshirting.

Is there a decent reason why we didn't go to Doss on the 1st half?

Great to see him used on the sweep.

    Proud that we battled.

Can't get this out of my head. We give TThomas more PT 2nd half of the season, we win vs EWU, and Sac State. Progress! #Agscension

San Diego was ahead of us for a while, not quite sure why. I heard their chancellor focused on getting 10 or 12 marquee researchers... not sure if that is true.

How did u put football on the big screen? Do you live in the Sac area?

Thomas was running over people at NAU in 2nd half, he seemed to stumble at times... but always forward and gaining yards!! Why didn't our staff see this in practice? Loyalty to a local player, 5th or 6th year senior? With that huge run he would have had 220 yards rushing - in one half!!!!! (He didn't play 1st half, right?)

OLine appeared to play solid. Firooz at LG, not sure when we made that change.

    JW 3 TDs.

TThomas 125 yards rushing, 10+ yards per carry. Long of 26 yards. Most / all? in 2nd half.

Doss 173 yds receiving, 13 catches, most in 2nd half. (Why didn't we go to him earlier?) Doss also 45 yard sweep TD.

Hope for future: at least 25 big contributors tonight are true freshmen, RF, or Sophomores.

Without that illegal block does Thomas still make the play?

    Points taken. May I reply?

    1. We went from slow mo, boring offense, to quick paced, throwing offense, with a brand new QB, and full staff!! Maier wasn't even here in the spring.

Point 2. We are young. Lots of Sophs on defense, and frosh, lots of sophs on offense, too. I count at least 25 true freshmen, RF, or Sophs who get a LOT of PT. And at least 4-5 of those are JC transfers.

We battled. EWU and Sac were down to the last minute. Why we didn't play TThomas earlier is beyond me, against Cal Poly, against SUU, and 1st half tonight. Wasn't his success a contributing factor in the O moving the chains?

    Go Ags!

What was the penalty? Pluto in and out for me.

What penalty negated TThomas' huge run?? I've been saying he needs carries for weeks... when Pluto worked for me, he had some great runs!

    Ags TD.

Zander, step off the ledge ... most said they would be thrilled w 5 wins, which is what we have. All DI wins. Gould averaged 1.65 DI wins past 3 years. And we have Maier and most of our receiving corps for at least 2 years. ... D needs to make big strides.

Tehran Thomas with some big runs!

They could drop 65 on us. Almost 400 yards offense. Another special teams flub, why don't we try someone new?

Been trying to watch the line play. Haven't seen either of our LGs, backup center Firoozi is playing there. We can't shut down the QB keeper.

NFL draft next year is in late April. A friend was drafted, several teachers were accomodating.
  • Late Season Report Card
Interesting how some defensive players stats vary widely. Jameson studs out, then plays less or drops off. Parenteau started like a beast, then numbers declined after short absence. Graham was a top defender for us a few years ago. Maybe situational?

NFL draft workouts will be key, part of a process. Top receiving #'s in all of college FB can't be ignored. Interesting Maier / Doss article here from Vacaville.

    http://vacavilleinsider.com/sports/jake-maier.php

I looked up a few NFL draft websites, several have Doss listed at 6'1". Error? Speed 4.5 - 4.7. Having "dozens" of NFL scouts here tells you something. Some will want a steal. Big plays against San Diego, Wyoming, other big programs should help. One site lists him as the #48 WR, another says Free Agent possibility. My guess- Too many teams interested to let him slip that far, all playing it close to the vest.

Speaking of coaches, how are Biggs and Swimley?

I wonder if O'Brien will ever coach again?

I hope we get enough in return to make it worth it.
