We seem to have a solid group of Sophomores, a huge bunch. But #110 or #115 in defense is way down. I'm hoping improved special teams play helps, and maturity. But we have a long way to go.

I understand the Big Sky is tough, but we're something like #115 in defense in the FCS. I don't think moving up to #100 will cut it. Is it the players, coaches, scheme? Tucker had big success at the JC level, but we rarely stopped anybody last year. And now the competition increases.

We need to do something. Unless we want to conclude it was just a youth issue. I'm not saying large, but how about a pass rusher or solid DT?

The multi billion dollar NCAA doesn't have the resources to stop cheating?

Seven key additions last year, 10 total? Flowers and Maier transferred after 1 year. About 100 tackles between the top 3.

I don't recall many true freshmen being impact players on the line.

With the 5-6 Juco players we signed last year, who were key players, I'm hoping we add 1-2.

He would help long term, but we need big help RIGHT NOW. So might the 6'5" young man from Sac, Pesefea Jr.

Neumayer, Rose, others too would have loved the 3. I never saw Baranco or Thomas.

Football should never be cut. Facilities costs low for crew, but big participation numbers?

I still say we need to recruit more male students. They have lots of flexibility, look at the international students they bring onto campus. I doubt they are all fluent in English.

Blame the dumb phone, parents, different cultures, not hoops.

I agree. No insight from our local writers. We can only guess.

My guess is they didn't like our weak schedule. Much tougher next year, with a chance to shine against Stanford. It's also possible Keelan wanted to come back, didn't like it if he was projected to be a mid-draft selection.

Don't we still have AA programs, if not under other names? Different ethnic groups having different grades and test scores. And there is this continual push to get women into the STEM field, marketing, outreach. It is young men who are falling behind.
