Huge day for Teddy, who started his second NFL game at linebacker. He plays alongside Roquan Smith, who had a beastly game with 15 tackles.

He was busy - 86 reps. His intellect and maturity have to be key.

"Rookie fourth-round pick Teddye Buchanan took over the starting job next to Smith and played 82% of the defensive snaps (60) and all 26 special teams reps. Buchanan made six tackles. Trenton Simpson played 15 defensive snaps but made the most of them with four tackles."

FWIW, UCLA fired their head coach after 1.3 seasons and an 0-3 start including an embarrassing loss to New Mecico. In the world of buyouts in big time football, this is on the lower end, but still over $5 million.

And UW stayed with their 1s through the 3rd quarter.
  • 2025 Big Sky Football Games Week 3
    Cal Poly 56 - 7
    Hawaii 14 - 0 - halftime

    Mercer (1-1) - 22 - 21 over Wofford (0-3)
  • 2025 Big Sky Football Games Week 3
Sac wins 49 - 28, Damian Henderson rolling at RB. Nobody else really stands out statistically, thought about six RBs broke off long gains.

Sac put up 525 offensive yards, and 142 kickoff return yardage. The Go Go only had 17 passes, and the D recorded 3 sacks.

This is Mercyhursts' second year as a full fledged FCS program.

What happens when the person who funds a suite wants dibs on it for 5-10 years?

Will suites include an optional stripper pole?

Their top WR, Rashid Williams, was injured early and missed most of the game.

It was an ominous start, did we come out flat?

"It took Jacob Lane only one snap to establish his presence against the Aggies (1-1).

"Lane, the junior edge rusher, got a great jump on UC Davis quarterback Caden Pinnick’s first snap count before bull rushing right tackle David Porotesano several yards backward. After discarding the offensive lineman, Lane wrapped up Pinnick for a 8-yard loss and the first sack of his collegiate career."

FWIW. "FCS and Southland Conference member UTRGV (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) will make its football debut in 2025" - new stadium, suites sold out, 10K capacity.

Glad we don't need to spend big money for an indoor practice facility. NDSU new addition.

I think there are at least three FT paid staff, plus a supervising Associate AD, who divvy up the sports, but FB and MBB must have more support. There has been semi recent turnover in staff.

Don't forget, our Marketing Comm staff had trouble giving away 1,000 free tickets to a recent football playoff game.
  • @ Washington
Hireanother Associate AD to handle that. Or, can't Athletics Comms ask a few basic questions in advance?
  • @ Washington
Agreed. Our NG was great! Two 6'4" corners don't help, along w their QB and RB.

The Power 4 or 5 are almost like an actual semi pro league.

Interesting to see true freshman Treynor
Cleeland gets some reps as QB #3. Well built (225), mobile in HS.

We had a chance in the first half to score, but a 'well thrown' ball was intercepted. Was that one of their long corners? That's the kind of ball that could possibly be thrown another 3 - 5 yards farther - our WR had to come back to the ball. And if he can't get it, no INT.

The 2010 Cal game was understandable as we featured a rookie QB. The Huskies are better than that Cal team. It appears UW has two dominant offensive weapons.

Mick Dunning's photos show a lot of empty seats in Seattle.
  • 2025 Big Sky Football Games Week 2
Bob Dunning: "The 60-point loss was the largest in UC Davis history, eclipsing a 52-3 setback to Cal in 2010."
  • @ Washington
This was different, not like Cal, San Jose State, Tulsa.

Our grad transfers on defense are making a big impact, I hope the reserves develop. We had some defensive stops early but would commit a penalty or not put 3 consecutive stops together.

    Tackles: solo / total
    Batson -- 7 / 11
    Riddick -- 5 / 8
    Connors -- 5 / 8
    Ruchena -- 2 / 4
    Cofield -- 3 / 4
    McCormick - 2 / 4

Kai Acai picked up 18 yds on 4 carries, Cleveland 2 of 3 at QB.
  • @ Washington
Nice play calling. UW a bit miffed.
