• Tailgating
some were speculating last night that some of our low attendance for Saturday is due to kids not getting in for free (even though their tickets are cheap!). I heard something like 1/3 of season ticket folks did NOT buy their seats for Saturday.
  • MBB: Cal Poly (5-4) at UC Davis (3-4) Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:00 pm
Very weird game. Poly is very confident (cocky) as you could tell in their pregame. Then they come out and hit 3 3’s in 90 seconds and we can’t hit anything….9-2 was looking insurmountable! Thankfully they turned into a turnover machine and didn’t score (maybe got 1 shot?) in the next 6 minutes.

The 19 point run at the beginning on the second was impressive. Sevilla and Daugherty both looked like they wanted the shot and they sparked us. TY finally settled and it was a romp! If we hadn’t gotten a bit lazy on the glass (they seemed to be getting several offensive boards) it would have been even more.

I heard there was a little dust up in the handshake line? I was walking out when that must have happened. Poly was an attitude and you could see their frustration building.

Mikey had a couple stops before he finished at Penn St:

Thank god for the turnovers else it would be even worse
  • Tailgating
you know that the Jr Aggie placard doesn’t work for the playoff, right? There was an email about that last week
  • Rd.2 PLAYOFFS Week 15: UC Davis vs. Illinois State
it’s an NCAA-run event so no freebies. They’d have to claim one of the tickets purchased as donations.
  • Tailgating
until they built the practice field, it WAS on that side and led to a much more festive pregame. Easier to walk back and forth between TA tailgate and the rest of the groups. We’re isolated on the other side

I'm actually surprised we are favored, even by just a bit. we were something like 8 point favorites vs Norfolk and that didn't end well. Hopefully we get a decent turnout tonight.

demographics at Berkeley are similar but they get a whole lot more students there. I think having the frats near the stadium and a tradition of frat/sorority kids attending brings alot more of the students to the game.

I know when they were trying to figure out my ticket situation, the number of blocks of 4 seats were very limited in the Team Aggie section. I can’t really tell from the color chart how crowed the sections are going to be. Hopefully the students come out for a 3 hour study break of a brisk fall day!
  • 2024 Women's Soccer
Looks like we lost our women’s soccer coach. I kind of figured she’d be moving up at some point.

Colter - you do a great job with these interviews. Appreciate the love you give to the Aggie players. You show an incredible depth of knowledge for the BIG Sky and FCS. I always learn something listening to you.

Last year, we opened against same two teams (different order) on 12/28 and 12/30. Oddly, we drew 1700 for 12/28 vs UCSB.
  • Big West Scores
that’s kinda crazy since AP has Gonzaga 7, with Irvine in the ‘receiving votes’ with 2

seems like an excel spreadsheet checkin list would work fine!
  • Rd.2 PLAYOFFS Week 15: UC Davis vs. Illinois State
Any season ticket holders have issues with their ticket order? I thought i followed the instructions (season ticket renewal, etc) correctly, saw my seat numbers listed when I submitted my order and got a confirmation via email (didn’t show seat numbers but I figured that was because it was the renewal). Emailed today wondering when the tickets were available for download…..they didn’t see my order and sold my seats! Then they saw the order but tickets they were going to give me were in same row (t) but 10-15 yards toward end zone. Manager finally found 4 that are one row down from my normal and actually closer to the 50…so it kinda worked out.

But, if you are a season ticket holder, you should double check they’ve sent your tickets!

good point. It seems like what’s hampering him most is the defense’s ability to clog the lane and take away any path to the hoop. That, and the very physical defense he’s been getting away from the hoop - similar to what Pepper saw often last season, especially from deep teams that could throw more bodies at him.
  • MBB: Cal Poly (5-4) at UC Davis (3-4) Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:00 pm
in Les’ defense, two bigs we were counting on (Borra and Mani) are MIA. Mani was supposed to provide scoring, Francisco defense and rebounding. That hurts
  • Big West Scores
he looks healthy. He’s just getting everyone’s attention and teams have been very physical with him especially far from the hoop. Both Norfolk and OSU were very deep and could throw a lot of bodies at him. And, I thought, the Beavs were allowed a lot of contact. He’s not getting a ton of scoring support, especially in the front court.
  • MBB: UC Davis (3-3) at Oregon State (4-2) Saturday, Nov. 30 at 7:00 pm
For much of the first half, our best player was Sevilla. Now I’m a big fan of his, but if he’s our best player on the floor, it’s gonna be a long night. Leo is playing well. TY is getting beat up and they are taking the paint away from him. If we can’t get some points in the paint so that the opponents bigs can’t sag, he’s going to have to really work for points.
