there was a post on Facebook from Scott Marsh that Sandy commented on that the plan was for him to do color the rest of the year.

it was. I think Vargas may have but it’s early to say. Plough thinks he’s a better pure running back than LL - LL was a great football player

These kids have been getting offers (not allowed!) for weeks. The number I heard a few weeks back was $400k from a Big10 school. That’s the NIL; revenue sharing directly from school will add at least $100k per year. Lots of pressure on them to take the money and move up.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
by Olympic sports, i just meant non-football. I think the Big West is better for them in terms of basketball, baseball/softball, soccer, etc.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
it’s a better fit for their Olympic sports, especially the winter sports. But it does seem to lock them into a football-only FBS bid unless the Big West gave them an escape clause.

I’ve got 8 up from 3…..so we’re on the right trajectory!

I think the bye has got to help Fisher. He carried the brunt the past 3 games and he’s not a big body. I think that took a bit of a toll of his explosiveness

just sent a text to someone in the department to get him out to football playoff game! For his first game, he was great!

Here’s a statistical oddity: The Cajuns had ZERO fast break points. That almost seems impossible! Our turnovers were low but you’d think there’d be one errant pass would roll into the back court for an easy layup!

Kinda odd game last night. Come out of the chutes hitting shots and playing shutdown defense - i don’t think they got a shot off with more than 3 seconds on the shot clock in their first 10 or so possessions. Our FTs almost doomed us - they were in the bonus with 16 left, double with about 10 and we couldn’t take advantage. Missed several front ends of 1-1, and 2 straight 0-2. Probably had 6 possessions in a row without a point and let them back in it.

Fortunately, FTs got better in second half and offense settled; coupled with aggressive defense and it’s a blowout. Wilson is really good in both ends. Nico’s offense is a revelation (although he still looks to pass out when he has a good shot at the bucket).

These rails must be a bigger deal on TV than in person (at least to my old eyes). I don’t notice them at all.

Okay crowd, pretty solid student turnout (I like ‘the barn’ section under the basket). We had a new student sideline announcer with one of the great voices you’ll ever hear - young man has potential!

the sideline store sells Adidas west that you can customize to look something like what the coaches wear

I would guess Saturday’s game was the highest grossing game ever. A legit 14k not dominated by free student tickets. My SIL is a graduate who attended Weber game (her friends brother played here and was here for alumni day); after that, they bought causeway tickets. After that, they contacted me about playoff tickets. It’s a pretty good environment for sports fans

what the heck is that? Undermining the AD who you dealt this loser hand?

good point. My brother and sister in law were there last week, and they are back for playoff with two fans. I’ve been reaching out to my football alumni friends - be good to have the stands full!

Next week will be a big indicator - last years game drew 6400 on a beautiful day. If we repeat that, there’s no rush to increase seating since we won’t have a Sac bump to help along with the somewhat artificial orientation ‘record’.

I remember last year Norfolk State came in and we were solid favorites (6-point)...and got beat by 20. Norfolk ended up being really good (24 wins, 14th seed in the NCAA tournament), but at the time they looked like a likely "W" for us

the OSU job does not seem appealing at all. I know the Pac12 is rebuilding BUT I can’t see this being a place to have great success. Maybe in a few years, he and Jeff Choate can have some beers and ask each other why they leave Bozeman for such crappy jobs.

9.5 point favorites with 85% probability of winning. One dire days best bet is pick Davis giving the points. Hoping the Cajuns are anxious to get back home after a long week and we make quick work of them

I don’t see that option on the regular ticket link. You can probably call the ticket office and do it that way. I assume they figure only regular donors would purchase them but at $5 a shot, they might get a boarder audience
