• Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
Funny, we are running more than we should and Tulsa is passing more than they should. If Tulsa ran more they might have 5 touchdowns by now. How about Tompkins as our kick returner? Might be able to make something happen.
  • Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
First touchdown set was great. Everything after that was more like the play calling from last spring. I don’t understand the desire to call so many run plays. Looks like some more pass plays in the last few.
  • Big Sky announces new broadcast contract with ESPN
I wish we could improve the video quality. Not sure what that takes. I paid a few bucks to NDSU to watch the game we played at their stadium a year or two ago. The quality of their video feed was great. Definitely more cameras than the one stationary camera we seem to have. Not sure financially how they pay for all that, but seems like it is doable. Aggie fans might be willing to pony up more dough per game watched if the quality was better.
  • What is ailing UCD baseball ?
I have no idea how our recruiting and total budget compares to other BWC schools, but at some point the coach just has to do more with what he has. He needs to create an expectation of winning within the program and get recruits excited to come here as we plan on winning the conference. In a way that coach Hawkins has infused excitement into the football program. We might just need to try a new coach. Someone new might have new energy and make something happen. If that didn't work, it can't get much worse.
  • Ags Ranked #16 in the FCS Spring Coaches Poll
If you listen to some of his speeches, his goal is to return the HBCU schools back to a stature they previously had. I see that Grambling had a very good recruiting year as well. We will have to see what kind of momentum this has and if it can spread to all the HBCU schools or if it will be just one or two that make a big leap.

Jackson St., where Deion Sanders is now coaching, attracted a lot of 3 star talent and some 4 stars. Several transfers from bigger programs. They could break into the top 25 and surprise people.

  • Week 5: #9 Eastern Washington @ #11 UC Davis
Lots of positives from this short season. We have plenty of depth so they will push each other to get better. Need a little more speed in the secondary. I am looking forward to fall ball.

Weber 50 yard Hail Mary to win the game
  • Week 4: Idaho state at UC Davis
Weber down by 1 pt with 8 seconds left

Our offense has gone from Shredville to Flysweepville!

Larison should handle our punt returns
  • Week 4: Idaho state at UC Davis
Our offensive play calling is bad. Wasting our best skills. Also, might need to give Tompkins or Hastings a try? Rodrigues is slow to make decisions. A lot of his scrambling could be avoided, including his touchdown run, if he made quicker pass decisions.
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
We have the talent to win the rest of our games. Our defense is improved over prior years. We just need to figure out our offensive scheme. We have always had a pro style offense I would hate to see us doing a bunch of wildcat run plays.
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
Seems like they had a nice plan prepared for the first few drives in the first half and decided they would adjust at half time which turned into a bunch of sweep plays to the short side of the field. Rodrigues is good but he throws a little too late often leading to blocked passes. He was getting a lot of hurries, so we needed more shorter routes and not just on 3rd and 6. Our receivers are one of our best assets. We need to use them more and that frees things up for Gilliam and Larison who is nice surprise. This was overall a good game and our team has a ton of potential. If we can figure a few things out, we can make a nice run in the playoffs.
  • MBB: William Jessup at UC Davis, Friday, Dec. 4, 4:00 PST
Mikey is getting a lot of playing time and is one of their main players. Noticed Gio Nelson is at Portland State after a year at Arizona Western JC, but doesn’t seem to be a starter. Coach Les likes to play small and doesn’t use his big guys much. They don’t figure into the offense as he prefers 3 pointers and the big guys usually don’t get a lot of rebounds either as they must be out of position. Seems like a lot of our big guys leave and it might be hard to recruit good big guys with our offense. Mikey was never going to be a big scorer, so not a big loss. He did hustle and work really hard though.
  • Poll: How many wins for UC Davis this Spring?
I went with over. New QB but lots of good contenders recruited to fight for the spot. Also, seems like recruiting the last couple years has been real strong and some of these kids should be ready to contribute this year.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
Looks like Doss was cut by the team on 9/6 and then signed to the practice squad on 9/9. Hope a spot opens up for him.

Keelan Doss: Locks down practice squad spot
    by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Doss signed with the Raiders' practice squad Sunday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Doss played eight games with the Raiders last season and recorded 11 catches for 133 yards. The team brought in reinforcements at wide receiver this offseason, and Doss failed to beat out Rico Gafford for the No. 6 WR role in Las Vegas. Doss will continue to develop on the practice squad while waiting for a potential spot to open up on the active roster.

    Keelan Doss: Waived by Raiders
    by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
The Raiders waived Doss on Saturday.

Despite averaging 23.3 snaps per game over eight contests with the Raiders last year, Doss was cut by the team to start the 2020 season. Since he has experience with the Raiders, he could stick around as a practice squad member.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
Seems like the Raiders would use these tenders for players they want to protect and keep. Sounds like a good sign that they have plans to develop Keelan.

We need some pass rushers with speed. Will these guys that are 6 feet, 300+ pounds be able to chase down and sack the QB? I hope our strength and conditioning guys and nutritional people can whip the new recruits into shape.
