• Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Just saw Lamar’s schedule. Sac ain’t on it. Yikes. Still 5 games.

Washington State and Oregon State played TWICE this year?
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
According to his further comment I guess Lamar isn't gone, just TBD and not listed.
  • Transfer Portal
Washington State provides some cash and probably a good shot at QB1. I believe they have 3 underclassman QB's presently. Their previous starter was a transfer from Bryant who just graduated.
  • 2026 preseason thread
Great to get some finality on Cofield from Plough.
  • Transfer Portal
JuJu Lewis will be QB1 at Colorado. He was a 5* recruit in 2024, right? So Pinnick would be a back-up?
Or maybe they aren't sold on their 5* guy....Marion knows what he coached against.

Regardless, wild times to be able to offer that much money for a potential backup.
  • Transfer Portal
Sounds like Marion got to the family with some of his usual nonsense.LeFan

First thing that came to my mind when Colorado popped up: Marion saw the talent in the Causeway game.
  • 2026 Football Recruiting
A lot of feet-dragging on this. Not helping schools by leaving this unresolved for so long. Legal system takes forever, but the NCAA fighting this so hard is crazy given the way anything goes these days.

    Rex or Batson replacement?

Man, every player in that pic was a legit FBS-caliber defensive player. That was a fun year.

Unless the powers that be realize this, pump the brakes, and rethink the direction things are headed. Doubtful though.

The whole thing is a runaway train at the moment.
  • Transfer Portal
Not a lot of time to decide, it sounds like.

Pinnick falling for double bullsh*t.....Go-Go and Prime?

*edit* Go-Go, if removed from the Dr. Wood clown show, probably is more believable.

Surprising honestly. Although if Sac had Pinnick as QB they'd probably had been a 10 win team solely based on his ability to complete a forward pass, so I get he's a perfect fit for that offense.

    Looks like offers from:
    Davis
    NAU
    CP
    UTEP
    Rhode Island
    San Diego St.

I don't know if there is much of a difference between FCS middle class and FBS poor.

I think we're all enjoying FCS more than we would FBS at this time. Imagine just trying to make it while getting slapped around at Fresno State.

I believe we are farther from FBS than we'd like to believe.
  • Transfer Portal
Just because they enter the portal, doesn't mean they transfer.

Unfortunately for Davis fans, in Pinnick's (and maybe Vargas') case the money might be too good to pass up.

If the terms involve giving up baseball, I'm interested in hearing the thought process (I still don't know how good a baseball player he is). 1-3 round MLB draft money can be nice if he sticks at Davis.

If another school had offered me $450,000-$1,000,000 to take my Liberal Arts talents to another university, I'd be gone in a heartbeat. I'd never villainize these guys.

Commenters guessing who the QB could be....
Best comment: "Has to be Mike Literus."

    the bowls are irrelevant.LeFan

You got that right. I personally haven't watched one in years
  • Transfer Portal
Scott Nixon is listed at 6'2" 200 lbs. (closer to 6 ft. ?) That's a tall receiver for Davis these days.
He got involved late in the season and had some success, catching about 1 pass a game.

We've got a great thing going. Its been really good for a long time.
AST tailgate will be making its return next season.
