Yeah, I was just talking about Ivy grad transfers....I'm pretty sure nobody on scholarship in the Ivy League is transferring before graduation.

Davis offers a BS in Business now (finally), which I assume will help things for business admin portal guys.
  • Idaho State @ UC Davis
Davis' academic reputation helps get the top Ivy players as grad transfers. Which is a great thing. Playing time is the difference maker for guys like Psyk when deciding between FBS schools riveraggie mentioned and Davis. Davis is in a good spot in that regard- hopefully that pipeline develops.

Come Causeway week, Plough is going to have to get the entire team to power down the devices. Wood, Marion and Co. are going to be completely unhinged by that time.

Can't have covid if you don't test for it.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
They have to schedule 8 games over the next 10 months.

Its going to be really difficult to achieve this. Sac is big physically and a formidable opponent to schedule as a "fill-in" game. Also, nobody in the FCS is going to want to help them out right now. For FCS teams with open dates, they are for sure not the first choice when looking to schedule a game at the moment.

What happens if they end up with like 7 games?
  • Big Sky Announces 9 Game Conference Schedule for 2026
    MSU gets Montana
    Montana gets MSU and Davis
    Davis gets Montana

At first glance the Big Sky title is between potential 1 loss teams- MSU and Davis.

Having Brawl every year can make it harder for MSU and UM to win the title as they play eachother every year.
As Cal Poly improves to the BSC top-tier, this could be a thing for Davis as well.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Very few people are showing up to Davis or Sac for FBS football on Tuesday or even Thursday night.

I think slowly and thoughtfully building for MWC football is the right way to go. And so far we've got every indication that this is the strategy.

Thank goodness for sound, responsible leadership.

But I really doubt that going FBS would add value to a CSUS degree, particularly outside CTrainingRm67
For comparison. I don't think a Fresno State degree is worth more with a MWC/P12 football team on campus- within CA. While a Cal Poly degree w/ FCS football is worth far more in CA.

I would actually argue FBS football may increase the value outside CA, merely because of name recognition.

Forgot all about that guy. I bet 99% people think Wood is the AD / Pres.

Two of the worst teams in the country on the schedule: Portland State and Stetson.

The 8/29 conference games are weird. Great that we open with PSU though.
  • Big Sky Announces 9 Game Conference Schedule for 2026
I'm glad the Big Sky saw the importance of Davis/Poly on the last weekend. Hopefully now that Sac ditched, Big Sky will schedule Davis/Poly like this every year.

I agree completely that the CalExpo thing is a terrible idea. Its very possible that once football leaves campus, it will never be back. IMO the current Hornet Stadium is in about the best physical spot its ever going to be. They should raise funds for 3-5 years and rebuild it. Just do the damn thing right.

I'm not understanding the utter panic from Sac on this.....I mean, Davis isn't freaking out, nor anyone else in the Big Sky about the FCS disappearing in the next 2 years.
I've been saying this is a resume builder for Wood since the beginning- "See? I got an FCS program to FBS and a stadium built in record time".....even though this isn't even in the best interest of CSUS seeing as they are nowhere near ready to do this. The entire thing has been bizarre.

Its gonna start getting hard to keep players around the longer they have 3 games scheduled for next year.....

They could play Lincoln 7 times.
