silent students don't help either. There's nothing a visiting team loves more than a silent student section.

Aggie Pack needs to educate those first years and build the student culture just like the coaches are building the football culture. They will catch the bug the first moment they discover they are impacting the game. Thats when it gets fun!

......I seem to remember for a few years they were doing rallies and teaching/practicing "Aggie Fight" and gameday stuff (It appears that 9/10 Davis 1st years have never been to a college game).
    Are they still doing this?
  • Sacramento Kings star Mike Bibby to become Sacramento State's men's basketball coach
Find me one person who doesn't like Shaq....

Best thing Sac has done in all this craziness is signing his kid and bringing him in.

I guess Chat GPT picked up on the fact we don't have officially listed #1's at QB/RB/WR.....kinda funny. 9-3 could happen though!

    "...the Pioneer shouldn't exist...."
He ain't lyin' about stealing a playoff spot.

I agree that Davis needs to make it over the hump as far as being a feared team and contender for a championship every year. UC Davis is right there at this moment.
The FCS powers should be the Montanas, the Dakotas, and California (Davis and Sac and CP).

Its looking like Sac and Davis are both mobilizing for this and understand the urgency.
  • Reddit post of new MW baseball stadiums.
GCU looks so flush with cash....surprised they aren't pushing football already.
Overall, I think the MWC has better facilities, by the BWC scenery is going to be missed (CP, UCSB and UCSD are tough road trips to beat).

Mountain West on the horizon so if you choose to do so you can stay and play.AggieFinn

This is a new one, and it seems to be working out...

That's pretty funny.....he went on to a 12-33 record. Some of the most disorganized in-game decision making I've ever watched as a football fan.

I remember Laughrea being touted as having a ton of physical talent, but didn't play a lot. He ended up playing some in the AAL, Switzerland and Japan which is pretty cool

  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Yep. Entirely possible the FBS isn't what we think it will be in less than 10 years. "FBS-A" and "FBS-AA" would be hilarious.

Imagine Sac going through all this to end up in "FBS-AA".....talk about chasing tails.....
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Its like.....take your time and do it right vs. ram it through with hyperbole and half-truths and spend tons of money while pissing everyone off.....
I bet Sac and Davis arrive in the FBS at roughly the same time (within a couple years) with completely different paths/expenses.

Davis doesn't do chaos...for better or worse, we shall see.

A little unfortunate we couldn't build on JT's success...but totally expected drop-off when the D1 move started.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Sac just had their 1st (to my knowledge) decommit. He committed May 12 .....decommitted and committed to Fresno State yesterday. He is Class of 2026.

We'll see if this happens more....as I'm sure Marion is counting on plenty of defections as they have like 400 offers out....

We had a bit of a dry spell as far as "NFL/CFL caliber" QBs from 2002-2016: Flanigan, Grant (a fave. of mine), Plough/Engle/Denham (what might have been), Wright and Ben Scott.

All these guys had fine careers though! Jon Grant played professionally in Germany.

They probably tossed him $50k to tweet that...... lol
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
Was just watching all the videos posted on the board and reading the articles about Sac.

Its striking that UCD got a MWC invite with basically a "come play football when you are ready" option......where Sac is getting no invites and doing whatever the heck it is they are doing.

It really shows a huge difference between the two programs. I strongly believe Sac's leadership is failing the university.

The more we watch Sac, the better this deal looks....

    Interesting comments section.....
"Classic example of fake it 'till you make it.."

"UMass west... I am of course being a little unfair … to UMass. UMass is a state public flagship campus and an R1 research university; and in athletics it has won the FCS championship and NCAA men’s hockey championship, and gone to a Final Four*. But the rationale for moving to FBS is similar, and similarly flawed IMO."

UMass area population is only around 165,000 and its a couple hours from Boston.
Literally the only real thing Sac has going for it is the Sac metro population....
Even then, Boston metro and 2x Sac Metro.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
There has to be a good argument from the NCAA. Perhaps they know Sac isn't truly ready for this yet....and saw right through the BS.
Having a program fail at a move is not a good look.
    I really don't know....
