  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
    WWPA Semi-final results:
    UCD 12, Santa Clara 7

For what seems like the hundredth straight year the Ags and Tritons will meet for the league tournament championship and a spot in the NCAA tournament.
  • MBB: UC Davis (0-0, 0-0) vs. Cal (0-0, 0-0) Mon. Nov. 7, 8 PM @ Berkeley
The Cal victory was nice, but to be honest, Cal is off to a bad start. 0-4 against UCD, Kansas State, UCSD and Southern. They are 0-2 against UCs.

FWIW: I couldn't find anything on the UCD site and went straight to he WWPA website. Even there it took a little bit of navigating and all I found was a list of Day 1 scores and an image of the site's Tweet showing the Day 2 schedule.

Ags easily defeated Fresno Pacific, 22-6, in the first round of the WWPA conference tournament. They will play Santa Clara, a 16-15 double overtime winner over Air Force, in a Saturday semi-final. LMU plays UCSD in the other semi-final.
  • [Sea] Former UC Davis star Chima Moneke is signing with the Sacramento Kings, according to sources.
Early in the season but as of this moment the Kings are 8-6, 8th in the West and the only California team that would be in the playoffs if the season ended as I type this.

I'm in. Thanks for doing the legwork for this.

    Go Ags!

Chima is on the roster for both the Sacramento Kings and the Stockton Kings on their respective websites.

    "Does Sac rest some players?"

Sac players will probably get a rest in any event. They are almost certain to get a first round bye the following weekend.
  • Derek Moore named head wrestling coach at CBU
To be the best you play the best....California Baptist wrestling just took a tour through Iowa....Lost to Iowa State, 39-9, on Saturday and to Iowa, 42-3, this afternoon.
  • Bee article on Sac State Coach Taylor and the prospects for him moving on.
Cal and the 'furd are both struggling this season. UCLA made it interesting by losing to Arizona last night.

That's $3 million a year, with five years left on the contract. RIght now that's worth $15M to Wilcox

Who knows what specifics the contract may have about buyouts, but it would cost alot more than $3 million. Up to the $15M?? A Gofundme isn't going to do it.
  • Causeway Cup (?) 2022-23
UCD Men’s Cross Country finished 22nd in the NCAA West Regionals today with 662 points and a total time of 2:35:51 while Sac finished 28th with 799 points and a total time of 2:38:48.

In the Women’s competition UCD finished 15th with 402 points and a total time of 1:43:01, while the Sac women finished 29th with 847 points and a total time of 1:49:04.

The running tally for the Causeway Cup is now UCD 22.5, CSUS 2.5. Apparently there is a football game coming up on the 19th.

"The Year of Beating Stanford!" I love it!

    2005-2006

    Men’s Soccer
    UC Davis 1, Stanford 0

    Football
    UC Davis 20, Stanford 17

    Men’s Basketball
    UC Davis 64, Stanford 58

    Wrestling
    UC Davis 38, Stanford 6

    Baseball
    UC Davis 3, Stanford 0
    UC Davis 8, Stanford 3

(Men’s water polo was a 9-7 Stanford victory. Any other year a 2 goal loss in water polo to ‘furd would be a cause for quiet celebration.)
  • San Diego State May Be Moving to the PAC12
What is going to happen to non-revenue sports? I imagine flying a softball, soccer or gymnastics team from Los Angeles to College Park, MD or New Brunswick, NJ isn't cheap.

    Great win!

(Now just don't stumble against Cal Maritime. Beat the Keelhaulers!)
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
Defeated UCSD this evening, 8-7. They finish the WWPA regular season 8-0, win the regular season championship and secure the top seed for the conference tournament which will take place Nov. 18-20. I believe this year’s tournament will be at LMU.
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
This will be a tough road trip. UCD, LMU and UCSD are the top three teams in the conference.
