This might be a hot take but I think losing Vargas is a bigger deal than CP. CP is the fantastic and probably could have been the best QB in franchise history. However, I bet over the next decade we have QBs even better than him…. Vargas felt like an FBS RB on our team and that’s proving to be true by his offers.

I doubt CP gets looks from schools of that caliber and if he does, no way he’s starting.

With that said, I don’t blame anyone for taking the money. That’s an insane payday for that age. The likelihood that any of these guys make the NFL is low, so if you are going to take a desk job in 4 years, might as well take half a mil (or more) in your late teens…
